4NDR3W_6THG3N 09-27-2009, 05:37 PM Hey dudes and chicks. So I just joined so HI EVERYONE!
- minimal A/C usage
- 90% highway driving
- never over 3000rpms
- 3 people+ luggage+gas= approximately 3,650lbs

Is anyone else getting this kinda mileage? Or are my calculations totally off?
On a normal school week I get between 22- 27.
*Automatic transmission
*K/N airfilter element
fLYaZZbRASilenO 09-27-2009, 05:43 PM never over 3000rpm? maybe u get such good mpg cuz u drive like a grandma...
humblehyper1 09-27-2009, 06:57 PM LOL that is insane. I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX and only get 20 mpg combined from the day I got the car 5 years ago.
DrumZ53 09-27-2009, 07:07 PM That mileage sounds high..
:paranoid:
Cpyro 09-27-2009, 09:03 PM Let my uncle borrow my car and he drives mostly highway, said he got 520miles to the tank, ive never gotten that my self, but i guess if i stay to the speed limit anything is possible
dtraill27 09-28-2009, 06:25 AM those numbers are a bit high but i can see how they are possible i still get like 27 on the highway going to my girlfriends college and im doing 85-90 so thats steady 3k rpms and i still get good mileage
vatel 09-28-2009, 06:35 AM never over 3000rpm? maybe u get such good mpg cuz u drive like a grandma...

Are you using the actual gallons pumped in for your mpg calculation, or are you guessing the gallons based on the location of the needle? I'm asking since you mention a "half tank" vs. gallons.

Yes, please tell us the equation you used when calculating your mpg. Not trying to call you out, I just want to make sure we're on the same page. Good job on you great mpg though.

good call. yes, I think I based it on the actual gallons pumped, I tried to fill it up before leaving for the Minnesota trip as close to 17 gallons as possible from what was left. I drove as long as i possibly could before filling up (prior to trip). I was literally out of gas and glided into the gas station with the engine conked out. I still have the receipt from that fill up. It was 16.802 gallons. :naughty:
*BTW, I'm good at driving and am a very mild-moderate driver normally. Never do I drive like a grandpa. Save it for trips.
tebow 09-28-2009, 07:10 PM i have a 2001 accord 4cyl and i get 22 mpg in the city which i think is pretty food, but my math could be off 375 miles/ 17 gallon tank if that is correct = 22.09
( would seafoming the car give it better gas mileage???)
GTFan712 09-28-2009, 07:12 PM never over 3000rpm? maybe u get such good mpg cuz u drive like a grandma...
Plus one.

CARVERitUP 10-05-2009, 10:02 PM guys just to let you know, this guy is for real. He's so insane about gas mileage he NEVER lets me turn on the air conditioning in the car :P
VWEATERACCORD 10-07-2009, 07:01 AM im lucky if i get even 250 miles on a full tank lol
G Stone 10-07-2009, 07:42 AM I usually never drive the car past 1/4 tank but my last couple fill-ups were 28-29 mpg. Very good for a V6!
4NDR3W_6THG3N 11-25-2009, 03:03 PM yeah ive been getting around 350 miles per tank these days. I just seafoamed it and got an oil change. I've yet to clean the air filter.
Ruben325ci 11-25-2009, 03:09 PM LOL that is insane. I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX and only get 20 mpg combined from the day I got the car 5 years ago.
 True that same here i drive a V6 and prob get 20 mpg and thats calling it fair....
PaulD 11-25-2009, 03:31 PM I have the V6, I average 20-22 in the city and 26-28 on the highway
4NDR3W_6THG3N 11-27-2009, 04:38 PM It's crazy how these 6th gens can trump the mpgs of plenty of new cars.
Mercury3 11-29-2009, 07:47 AM I got the same car and year. I usually get about 25 miles/gallon average city/highway. (I never drive just city or just highway so can't check um seperate)
I don't keep her under 3k RPM's though. Yeah that would be Grandma driving for sure. Screw that.................
DonutLimo 12-09-2009, 08:47 AM It's totally possible, i normally get 25-28 from my v6 without much city driving. Last summer i had a tank yield 32.1 but it was basically all highway and backroads and only 2 starts from cold. It really seems to make a diff if the thing is warm and running continuously.
True, so many new cars' mileage is in the toilet compared to our antiques!
