I'm just wondering what other's have been told on which service schedule to follow -- 'normal' or 'sever' driving conditions.
My dealer advised me to go with the 'sever' schedule due to Nebraska's extreme temperature changes (one day you need your winter coat, the other day its shorts).
What have other's been told?

I can help you out here :)
First question, what is the difference as listed between the different schedules?
From the way every service menu appears, about 95% of the US populace falls in the Severe duty range. I always recommend 3K oil changes regardless of driving condition. Whenever you have rapid changes in temperature expecially at this point in the season, you're bound to have some degree of crankcase condensation take place, and this is the time when oil changes are most vital.

I give up. I posted twice in this topic and each time it got lost.

I'm sticking with the sever service schedule -- My Accord goes to the doctor tomorrow - 30k service.
I hope pumping all the money into it now will be worth it in the long run (meaning 'sever' v. 'normal' driving).

took it in at 8 a.m. this morning to have the big service done - along with fixing that darn popping noise. We'll, they must have either been really busy, or underestimated the time it would take, becuase i still don't have my car back tonight! Ahg.
Thankfully, they provided me with a rental. I'm driving a mini-van.

What did they tell you would be done?

They told me that it was over in the body shop waiting to be welded on...
I pulled the actual service bulletin that Princess posted and took that into them.
