Atomic Robot 10-01-2009, 05:39 AM I'll start...
This morning I pulled up behind a Lexus sedan at a stop light and something didn't look quite right. It took me a second to figure out that there was a wing spoiler on the car (looked to be oem) equipped with an LED brake light which had not been wired up and the spoiler was blocking the high mount brake light in the rear window. Lazy dealer? Lousy DIY? :dunno:
Who's next?

DEman19901 10-01-2009, 06:16 AM Maybe a little of topic. The the most stupid thing I saw was not on the road but it was on the news. It was one of the accidents that lead to Toyota's massive recall. A family of four was killed driving a Lexus ES350. The accelerator was stuck due the floor mats. The driver crashed the car killing the family while on a 911 phone call. I just can't imagine having the time to dial 911 but not having the time to put the car in neutral or even shut the car off for that matter. It's sad that the whole family had to die. I feel that was stupid. This is just my opinion.
DrumZ53 10-01-2009, 06:40 AM A few days ago I saw a Chrysler Sebring with a HUGE Mercedes-Benz

Clover 10-01-2009, 07:12 AM Last night an older honda civic like gen 1 pulled up to me, with "Powered by Honda" stickers literally two on the back windshield, 1 acroos the whole front, 1 on each side of the car, and put toyota emblems on the back. Paint mismatched, with a Pepboys 46 ft. tall spoiler, and two different wheel patterns. Oh ya and the fake carbon fiber pillers that were faded, so they were just grey.

accordn17 10-01-2009, 08:51 AM a school bus... they drive to #$*@&^% slow!
Hmmm, let me start...
- Location: one of local boulevards, with jaywalking guard/fence - just at the end of fence. Elderly lady (80+) carrying box of fruits jaywalking - when cars started honking horns, she gave them a finger.
- Location: highway (OK, I know, you probably wouldn't call it that, but...), rush hour, heavy stop-and-go (like stop for 30 secs, go for 10). Yugo in left lane stops, passengers from back seat exit (mind you: it's 3dr hatch), take some bags from trunk and walk between the cars to the exit.
- Location: supermarket (cash&carry) parking lot. The guy used marked pedestrian lane to park his car. Another one used it to switch to another parking lane, yelling at pedestrians/shoppers with heavy strollers to move away.
- Location: parking in central part of the city. Lady with Smart car ForTwo had managed to occupy two parking spots.
I think I'll be contributing here quite a lot :naughty:

STRONGLY ditto! The V6 cars are likely WORSE! :lmao:
ry05coupe 10-01-2009, 11:38 AM Today I have seen about 4 pick up trucks with vertical exhausts right behind their cab, making tonnes of noise between the lights but not going anywhere.
83 year old man who's head barely cleared the steering wheel, wearing THICK sunglasses, going 50 in the left lane where the limit is 70, eating a cupcake.

Ugh. A coworker bought two Aztek's when they first hit the lot. We all lied and said, "Um, yeah, that's looks nice." Then a guy walks in (didn't know who owned it) and says, "Damn, that Aztek in the parking lot is the ugliest car I've ever seen."

They will now have suspect stare at Pontiac

searich07 10-03-2009, 07:53 AM Stupidest thing I have seen today (last night) was a SUV with one brake light operative. Driver kept foot on brake, so one brake light was on most of the time, when he took foot off brake, back end was all dark. I pulled took license plate #, pulled over and phoned state patrol so he would not end up killing someone else. Safety issues are most bothersome to me. Regards

Gosha 10-03-2009, 07:56 AM Driving back from Terror Behind the Walls on a wet expressway. Some dumb woman stops in the middle of the road and people begin to break, the roads are very wet and mostly everyone wasn't going fast. My ABS kicks in, lights flashing all across the dash, stop on time, brand new Subaru Tribeca stops right behind me and then all i hear are sceatching tires, and BAAAM another SUV slams into the Subaru. Glad Subaru didnt go forward and hit me because he was 2 feet away. That car was messed pretty bad, never had an accident happen so close to me while also avoiding it
Richard, I see that 'round here daily (or should I say at least one such car per mile)!
I could understand if a total clunker would have bad lights (whichever), but I often see rather new and expensive cars with brake lamp(s) or even headlight(s) out!
Last week, we had a bridal shower for my friend. It is tradition here for girls to go out together that night and party. So, we did. Two of us were "designated drivers". However, taking off, I've noticed that the other car's headlight (driver's side) was out. I've stopped her and asked if she had spare one or should I check if my set is compatible. She replied: "Nah, it's out for few days, I'll change it when I get some spare time!" Talking 'bout safety... :thumbsdow
So, to avoid being off-topic...
Today I went to local mall. Garage has separate (one way) entrance and exit routes. So, after finishing my shopping, I started my car and entered exit route. Suddenly, a car appeared in front of me! I stopped, trying to understand what's going on. Girl in the other car rolls down her window and yells: "Hey, entrance has priority over exit, back your car down so I can pass!" :lmao:
xJoeMama78 10-05-2009, 04:13 AM Last week when I was back home I saw a woman driving the wrong direction on a major road that has three lanes in each direction. She got to an intersection and stopped since the light was red. There was a car in each lane on the other side of the light. Light turns green, she starts to go, stops in the middle of the intersection, and then proceeds to lay on the horn until the guy that is facing her goes around her. After he goes around her she continues through the intersection, completely oblivious to the fact that she is driving the wrong direction.
I fly home later that day, prepay my parking, go find my truck in the airport parking garage, and discover it won't start. Call security and wait for a jump. After five minutes of the security guard reving his F150 and hooking up a jump pack, the truck finally starts.
I drive to the express gate to leave and my prepaid ticket is rejected because too much time elapsed between when I paid and when I actually left. It didn't really matter because I had already paid the maximum fee for the day. So I push the little button on the gate and of course the gate guard can't hear me, nor me him, through the little speaker because of the clatter of my truck's engine. So I do what I always do when I have to talk to those little speakers while I'm in my truck, I turn it off. Guard opens the gate and lo and behold, my truck won't start. Thankfully a different security guard came over to give me my second jump in 5 minutes.
Apparently the lady I saw in Vegas was emanating so much stupidity that some of it wormed it's way into my brain.

yes sir, parallel with the jack in the box / krispy kreme, just off the 91 west, a few blocks from my house.
lpaudio2 10-07-2009, 08:20 AM @andres0603 thats a 4th gen. While not my favorite design, they were relatively reliable (if you did not have a 3.1 with the intake manifold problems, or any dexcool issues).
The 5th gen. Forget it. Terrible. Had a friend with one that by 150k was leaking coolant, needed a cat convertor, needed injectors, a turn signal flasher module, a radio (just stopped working), among other issues I forget.
KaliKal 10-25-2009, 01:37 AM Sorry to bring this tread back to life.
Stupid thing 1, I saw 2 sheriffs in a SUV chasing a small dog, oh I wished I would have stuck around and saw more of it.
Stupid thing 2, I live on a hill and most people tend to use lower gears going down the hill, well this one lady was driving down the hill the correct way except she had the car in reverse, so sad to see a honda bouncing off the rev limiter. The sound was unmistakeably since it had the whine of straight cut gears are usually found in reverse since most forward gears are helical, unless in a race car.

With that image in mind... today I saw what looked like about a 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood; bright orange body with the vinyl roof painted bright yellow and "Cadillac" in large yellow script on the rear quarter panels. The whole thing was raised up ridiculously high (I'm only speculating here) in preparation for some hella-gigantic rims, but currently rolling on battered steelies. The suspension was so idiotically stiff that hitting even the smallest bump launched the rear end off the ground.
So stupidly funny I almost drove off the road from laughing!
