Good morning,

I'm new to the forum and searched but came up empty handed. I currently own a 2006 Honda Accord EX V6 Sedan. Currently the vehicle has 215/50/17 tires. I was interested in finding out if I can install 225/55/17's without any rubbing issues and/or doing any type of modification. This vehicle is stock height/stock wheels and plan to keep it that way as it's a daily driver (Lease). Now I know the 2009 Accord comes with 225/55/17 but I want to make sure that this size fits my 06 Accord Sedan. I appreciate your response and look forward to getting some help on this.

I run 245/50/17 on a 8" tl rim with no problems, you will be fine....

May i ask why you would want larger diameter tires?

Im no engineer but i think you should stay very close to the normal diameter, simply because the tranny was thought to be efficient in all matters on the car; now using larger diameter tires you will "lower the finalfinalfinal drive multiplier". Also your odometer has to be recalibrated.

I run 215-45-17 on my 05 v6 6sp and i want to get back to 215-50-17 on my next set (bought the car with them, they're done anyways).

Im thinking of buying 235-45-17 which is about the same size diameter..

The 2009 EX and EX-L sedans actually come with 225/50/17, not 225/55/17.
225/55/17 will make your speedometer/odometer 5% too slow.

If you do this, you will gain 0.26" of tread on the ground; and 0.64" of Section height increased (3.73" - 4.37") your speedometer will say 65mph but you will actually be going 68mph
