Well at least millions spent on this weapon shows something happens, like burning paint off stationary target. No evidence was given to suggest it destroyed vehicle or made vehicle immobile. We announce to enemy, if you don't surrender we will remove paint from your vehicles! Joking, of course desired results are years away from field deployment. This test impressed me. Shows how much further it has to go before beiing practical. Regards

So Boeing invented a high cost paint remover. Notice flame self extinguished at end. Fry our enemy. Regards

In the 70s @ Davis-Monthan AFB in AZ they used paper cups filled with water. They'd place cups in the boonies & aim the lasers from way up there. I think this was to calibrate the cameras in the U2s. Even way back then, those cameras could read your cigarette pack from 80K ft. up. The way cameras are now, I imagine that's even improved. :D

Thanks for your effort, Steven, in making us all safer.:)

I wonder if it removes light paint or dark paint faster. :lmao:

To All:

Advanced particle-weapon technology has been around for decades. Popular Science featured the "Flying Laser" some time ago.

But what USAF, Boeing, and Lockheed present is just a little "dog-and-pony" show. Their really NASTY weapons? They naturally don't discuss them. But they keep them quite handy, if/when circumstances warrant their use. :D
