I've seen this post elsewhere but have got mixed opinions. I want to change the tires that came with my 05 LX-SE coupe (the Turanza el41's) don't like them and horrible wet traction (at least everyone seems to agree on that), and I was looking to plus size the tires.
Using the following calculator: (I did use others for comparison with simlar results, this one was the clearest and easiest to use)
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
The difference between the OEM 205/60-16 and the upsize I want to do (225/55-16) is 0.24% in and the RPM 809.1 to 808. So diameter wise they sound ok.
The two questions I have:
1. Will the 225's fit on the 16" OEM Honda rims? (tire websites seem to say yes, but people are skeptical), any problems that might arise would be appreciated, I don't want to hurt my baby.
The reason I didn't want to do 215 was the 1.45% diameter difference compared to the 225's and the RPM goes to 821 (even the EX-V6 6MT 17" OEMs only had 816 RPM, I'm trying to stay in the general neighbourhood of the OEMs diameter and RPMs).
2. The two tires I've checked out are the YOKO AVID V4S and the Turanza LS-V. Any personal experience and any recommendations?
I did plus sizing on my previous civic although I only increased the 185/70-14 to 195/65-14 and the performance difference was phenomenal especially since I got rid of the crappy firestones that came with it.
Thanks
