My coupe has been injured so many times in the past 6 months (not even)

June 2009 - On my way to class, a lady rearends my car. Bumper is totally scratched up and damaged. Dents all alongside the rear bumper The car's first accident.

June 2009 - Hours later (same day as the rearend), someone must have hit a ball or something and it smashed into my roof (there is an 4-6inch indent the shape of an oval on my roof).

September 2009 - I go to burger king to get a meal, sit inside and eat for 5minutes. I come back outside to find that someone hit and run my car. The entire front side has several deep scratches and paint peels everywhere.

October 2009 - On my way home from class, I was taking the highway (going approx 70-75mph). A giant vinyl banner flies out onto the highway, and smashes into my windshield. I go driving onto the side (onto a little bit of land) because I am blinded momentarily. The stupid f***king banner scratched up my entire front, the hood, the windshield, and the top of the car.

Now my car looks like a piece of trash. There are scratches everywhere and the paint is peeling off in several places. What bothers me the most is that none of these accidents/incidents were my fault whatsoever, just a cause of my bad luck.

Its okay man. Get the areas painted and see if you can get a quote from a pro detailer. It'll be back in shape.

Every time something happens to my car I get it taken care of pretty soon after since my deductible is only like 100 bucks. I've had probably about 6 or 7000 in repairs. First time a dead power line fell on the rear of my car, second time was Hurricane Ike, had shingles flying off my roof and scratched juts about every surface of my car.

FWIW - Since you are in NJ, I would wait until after the winter. With all the potential for accidents that exist in Northeast winters, along with rocksalt, etc. - I'd hold off. Your choice, though. Best of luck with the repairs.

I am in the same boat man. From rattle problems to break warpage, to vibrations, then getting swiped on the front lip/bumper/fender with no note and now just last night an old dude rear ends me, not too bad but both the front and back has to be repainted, both lips and bumper. I have a hookup so only paying 400$ cash which isnt bad at all. Iv had more issues in this car than i did with my 05 altima that i had for 4 years

Glad you are OK, bumps, scratches, nicks; dents can all be resurrected to new. Keep safe. Regards Richard

Thing is that salt will rot out any exposed metal. I'd get it fixed asap, especially since it'll be easier for the shop to match the paint.

yeah i'm def contemplating on whether i should get it fixed now during the spring.

the thing is, one side where the paint peeled off is already starting to rust. and i dont want the winter salt to damage it more.

I strongly suggest you to get it fixed before winter unless you are gonna garage keep the car without using it until the winter is over.

Rust on metal is like cancer, the longer you wait the worst it will spread to the point that you can't replace it.

It's definitely not bad luck. Just an accord thing. I've never had so many people hit me or so many truckers drive off the road in front of me and throw rocks up on my car in any other car. I've had a lot of damn cars too. hahaha
My grandpa actually took my accord's cherry by backing into it and doin about $1100 in damages. Got that fixed. Then comes the start of the never-ending battle on the road with all the rock chips that come with my job. Then I went through winter and my nice dark gray car was more like salt and pepper colored. As I was working on getting ins to pay for that, I was rear-ended by a lady who tried to say I was at fault for being in front of her:) Then, when the car came out of the body shop with new paint, new rims and clear bra, a week later a guy hit me and the ins company said it looked like it was my fault due to location and lack of witnesses. HAHAH...I'm done fixing the cosmetics on this thing.

I don't know why you're contemplating on whether to fix it in the spring since you've stated that you don't to have more damage done to the car, although stupid drivers might have their work cut out for you...

If I were you, I would get it fixed so you don't make it worse than it already is, and if something happens from now till spring, then let it be because s**t happens so deal with it.

My first accident ever in my Accord occurred about 2 months after I bought it...... I was sandwiched between a Honda CRV and a Nissan Pathfinder in one of the tunnels in Boston, MA............

The CRV in front of me stopped quickly, I stopped just in time to not hit him (with about 1 foot separation between us), but the lady in the pathfinder behind me did not stop and rear ended me at about 30-35 mph......

I had enough time to actually peek in the rearview mirror and see the "OH SH1T" look on her face before she hit me...... Anyway, the brushguard on her SUV put a Huge dent in my Accord's rear bumper and the crush pad behind it..... The front grille was mildly scruffed up from diving underneath the CRV's rear bumper and the front emblem was displaced a little.

I actually wasn't too mad b/c she didn't drive away - after all she couldn't b/c it was gridlock traffic..... needless to say.... it was an insurance hassle afterwards but I didn't pay anything and there wasn't even a police report filed - just two words against one.....

Hehe, I might be in the majority of 8th gen owners, but I think that the styling of the sedan is better than that of the coupe.....
