All I have is bad news man.

My stupid friend today locked me out of my car thinking it was "funny", then he started my car, reved the engine to maybe around 4k, and then he forgot that it was ignited, and turned the key to make this really really nasty sound. Afterwards, as I was driving down the street, ALL of my lights were on. The brake, the engine, the battery, ALL of them. I have no idea why is this. It turned off later on after my friends dad was checking it out. Then a new problem came up. As I slowly accelerated the car, there was a sharp pitch coming from the timing belt area. My car is complete STOCK, so nothing has been moved around (in case u guys know what's doing this). I think it is the timing belt, but am not sure. I heard you should switch around 80k miles, but mine is around 130k rite now and haven't switched. I also heard it was the bearings being worn out... I am kind of pissed at my friend. A horrible week so far. I also scratched the bumper, and a dent popped out of nowhere on my car. Bitch driver must have hit and run me in the parking lot. **** IM SO MAD.

Before that, I tried painting my rims. Me going overboard decided to go and try for a redlip, and that just ****ed everything up. My whole lip looks so ugly on two wheels... cause there are shots of red there. (I am going to re-paint them agian some time, just one shot of all black instead of that red lip). Sigh.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH THE TOP PLEASE HELP, and if anyone knows how to get rid of this extra red paint on my lip, please do too. I'll take pictures tmw, but do help me with this. I'm real sad over my car. It's not like I'm killing it or driving ti too hard, I mean.. the most I've gone with this car was probably 5k rpm, and then I let it drop down cause I was scared.

ONE MROE QUESTION:

Can I shift from D3 to D4 while the car is in motion? I heard that it was a way to control ur rpm; By havign ti on d3, the rpm goes higher, and then u can vtech it earlier or something. I don't plan to do this, but i just want to be more educated. Same goes again for going from D4 to Neutral and Neutral to D4. Thank You guys very much. [=

Yes you can. Sorry I can't really help you with the other stuff. Maybe I can whack your friend in the head though..

If it was quite scary, screaming-like sound, I'd say it's timing belt. Those things shouldn't be expensive to replace, and they could make quite a mess if they break.

As for the thing your friend did, it happened to my Civic several times (while I was coaching my boyfriend and some other friends to drive) and it didn't mind that much.

And _____, thanks for D4-D3 info, I wanted to ask that question as well.

Honestly... I doubt anything your friend did caused the whine.

rev to 4k... no big deal everyone does that. Its not even close to redline, no big deal.

Start while on. Not great for the starter or teeth on the flywheel, assuming it still starts fine, so no big deal here either. THe sond you heard was the starter gear hitting the spinning flywheel.

If you belt is at 130, and not been done, you would be very well advised to do it! Your over the interval, and on a honda if it snaps your done for.

You can get a whine from various components that are driven by the serpentine belt. Best way to diagnose is with a mechanics stethoscope, or piece of tube to localize the noise. When you have the timing belt done they can check that too.
