Hi guys, I've been searching around and looked at the prices that everyone got for their conversion. It seems that everyone bought the 14832 model. I was wondering if anyone put on the 14829 model? The tip is a bit different and I think the body is a little bigger. The 14832 that everyone has sells for about 90-100 a piece and the 14829 is about 140-150 a piece.

i think both of them is the same size accept for the longer tip. (14829)

do you have to change the whole setup (catback) or just buy the two exhaust mufflers? I am curious bc I want to do a dual exhuast conversion on my i4

Do you have the piping going to both sides now? No. Obviously you need to change the piping to run two mufflers. You have to buy the two mufflers and have a shop make piping to run to both sides as shown.

ozrazer has more to it than just pipe and mufflers, if you look closer there are heat sheilds, custom cut welded pipe, custom attachments, and I suspect right kind of attachments and mounts. There is nothing like seeing a custom perfect carefully thought out exhaust system. Regards

All righty. Well guys, I landed a great deal on the 14829's and got them each for $110 instead of paying the $143 each price that is everywhere. Apparently the only difference is that the tpi is 7" in length compared to the 14832's 4" tip length. I don't know if I will regret this but we'll see how it turns out. If anything, I may end up getting an hfp/ ron jon body kit in the future. I am not looking forward to being super impressed with the sound difference because I have yet to put on the Injen CAI. As far as piping, I am stuck between using a 2.5 in pipe or having the shop make the 2.25 in pipe to match the stock. I think I will lose a lot more if I go with the 2.5 diameter piping. However, he said it makes a deeper sound. What he is letting me do is put on the mufflers with the 2.25 stock piping and see how it sounds. If I want to try the 2.5 in piping, he will put it on and have me see how it sounds.

Nice! I went with 2.25" since back pressure was a concern, but yeah keep us updated.

Don't do 2.5 as it is probably too big for the I4. 2.25 will be plenty. looks can be seen here (http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=37229) and sound here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1Idmwka6tE). Please make your mufflers straight. though.

Sounds good! So for future reference, if anyone wants to do a dual exhaust magnaflow conversion, get the model #14832. It is generally $50 cheaper than the 14829 model; and as far as I can tell, the only difference is the tip. But we will see I suppose. I get them in on Friday and hope to get them done sometime the same day.

so replacing the exhaust doesn't change much on an I4? Lets say you have the Takeda SRI, would it be worth it to change the exhaust? Not necessarily to a dual, but just to let more air go through? is it not worth it?

lol duly noted! i have a shop i trust they could get this done for me for a reasonable price... but i don't care so much about the sound more about the performance (even though it would be minimal)... should receive the SRI this week. changing the exhaust would only change the note/sound, wouldn't do anything re- performance?

Buy the mufflers and go to muffler shop, simple as that. All together my numbers are at $340.

Looks and sound is what you'll get and minimal if any performance gain, if you want full performance gains would have to change/buy full exhaust system, change headers to quality performance headers, new res or/delete, appropriate size pipe, high flow cats, pre cat delete, j pipe, etc..

Oh okay, but if I just want a new exhaust I can just buy it and bolt on it?

fLYaZZbRASilenO

nope..unless u have a v6 and get a whole cat back system that is bolt on..u will need to get a new one welded

It's 300 without the Y-piping? There isnt really much piping though. Then again, a shop charged me $220 and another $80 is I decide to go 2.5" piping.

I payed $180 for 2 mufflers and $160 for install. $340 for everything including taxes and tip. And it was an A+ job. You just have to find the right muffler shop. Luckily, i found a local one right by my house.

Here's a sedan with duals:

hmm thats a good price.. but from the pics of the sedan it looks like it suffers from the kaitlina issue :) the exhausts are not straight and point out?

Have any pics of it directly from the rear?

Got my 14829 mufflers in the mail friday and wanted to post pics but I am taking the car in the shop for to do the conversion. The cost will be roughly $100 for everything. The guy is pretty chill and is a stepfather of one of my coworkers. He's been doing it for years so I trust him =X

So I got it done and I must say... it sounds amazing. Tips stick out a little further than everyone elses since mine is a 7" tip rather than the 4" one everyone has on their 14832 mufflers. It was a total of $120 everything inclusing the Y pipe. I decided to keep the resonator because I like the deep tone it gives. I also wanted to stick with the stock 2.25" diameter piping size instead of going up to 2.5". I will post some sound pics up eventually. The sound is dramatically different at lower rpms. It sounds so much more deeper from 4K and below. Once it goes over that it begins to sound a bit more like stock, which is nice for me. Also, there is no drone inside the cabin and when I'm cruising I hear nothing from it =D. Here are some pics!

One question, is the right and left tire different than each other on your car?

Great work guys, this is definetly on my list of wants. One question though? One of the limiting factors of the 177 HP I4 (LX, LX-P) is the smaller diameter exhaust, will a dual help increase the HP?

Yes =( When I bought the wheels, 3/4 of the set was wrapped in Michelin Pilot primacy's. They're like 380 a piece and I guess the previous owner decided to just put on a Ventus tire after one died.. haha

I don't think so, but if you drive the exact same way throughout the process, you may get better mpg due to a more free flowing muffler. Going dual will not make things more free flowing, I think only an aftermarket muffler does that. You will lose some back pressure so the car will feel a bit slower. But to be honest, I don't feel a difference. The car is already slow =D and even more so with chrome 20's... haha
