Vixen89 10-13-2009, 07:36 AM Hello DA,
I've posted a few before I decided to formally introduce myself. I'm a little female Viet down in Texas in the DFW (mainly Grand Prairie, Arlington, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, and Fort Worth) area driving an '08 Accord Sedan (really wanted a coupe but father says no) right when they were released, and was about to buy either an Mazda RX-8 or '08 Toyota Camry. I've always loved my car even if it was stock for a year, and I don't know anything about it until I learned a couple of my friends are hardcore into modding cars. I decided to follow, but yet again no knowledge of any modifications to my car. Stumbled upon DA.net, and been motivated and addicted ever since. Great bunch of people here, and the showcase of everyone's car is awesome. I'm at work, and I'll be able to post pictures on the weekend of my car, but hey it's stock..again, so don't expect much until much later..I've only done minor mods.
Add me on Facebook if ya like, DA.net needs more publicity! ^^

Clutch34 10-13-2009, 07:41 AM Welcome to DA! I live in the Plano/Frisco area! :) This site is awesome, you'll learn a lot here!
DrumZ53 10-13-2009, 07:42 AM Hello in Texas...Welcome...I want to get OEM splash guards too ( I read
you sig)..painted SM red
Honda247 10-13-2009, 07:47 AM Welcome. I know what you mean about DA being addicting. I'm a DA addict myself.
Vixen89 10-13-2009, 07:52 AM Thanks everyone, and my M3 Lip and OEM Splash Guards come this week. The splash guards were in black, so I'm wondering if it'll match my car, if not, it's spray paint time. >>
I think I've learned more off of DA.net than any other site, and here there's so much insight from everyone, and sweet deals!
Vixen89 10-13-2009, 07:53 AM Did I also mention on DA.net, it urges you to spend money like crazy..@@
Osiris_x11 10-13-2009, 10:26 AM Welcome to the 8th gen' Accord el'ex syndicate! :naughty:
... my M3 Lip come(s) this week.Is it the the mini trunklid lip-spoiler that is common to the BMW E46 M3?
Have you given consideration to the actual 8th gen' Accord OEM-accessory replica trunklid lip-spoiler?
It is ~$110/shipped (it's a high-quality ABS plastic piece that's a direct replica of the original; it comes color-matched, along w/ mounting-instructions, hardware, and 3M-VHB tape)? It's on ebay, the vendor/seller is "thespoilercompany." The genuine OEM-accessory trunklid lip-spoiler is nearly 3x the cost of the replica. . .
The OEM-accessory trunk-lid lip-spoiler improves the aerodynamics (cD) of the Accord sedan for improved fuel-economy, as well as keeping the lower-trunk garnish, taillights, and rear-bumper clean(er). . .
Not to mention, it looks like it actually belongs on the 8th gen' Accord sedan (ie. an essential design element). . .
The splash guards were in black, so I'm wondering if it'll match my car, if not, it's spray paint time. >>As you have a Nighthawk Black Pearl Accord, you can easily use some black semi-gloss or gloss spray-paint (after a coat or two of adhesion-promoter/plastic-primer) on the OEM-accessory splash-guards. No need for clear-coat, unless you want the added protection.

Very nice, I'm going to look into that for the splash guards when they arrive. My father said something about not having a trunk lip spoiler due to high pricing on the insurance? (Which totally think is bull..) I got the lip that goes on the back of the window on the car, which is supposed to be here this week as well. T_T

Lol , your dad is BS-ing so hard because he doesn't want to spend all that money on it hahah ! But you can get the replicas , but shoot nothings better than the OEM's in my eyes

Completely agree, I can't wait to have a ton of OEM's installed, but the one thing that caught me off guard was this side step garnish, holy mother..LOL

Lol , your dad is BS-ing so hard because he doesn't want to spend all that money on it hahah!... :thmsup:Haha, that's funny. Reminds me of my friend in h/s who wanted to drive one of the family cars out one night (haul all of us around). His parents didn't want to give him that car, knowing he'd pack-it in w/ all of us, etc' (:naughty:). So they said that the insurance was too high for him to drive that car alone since it was a "turbo" (it did have a turbo emblem on the fender or trunk, it was an '80s Chrysler New Yorker). Ha... :D
Anywayz... here's the 8th gen' Accord sedan OEM-accessory trunklid lip-spoiler:
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/2647/41692676.th.jpg (http://img115.imageshack.us/i/41692676.jpg/) http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/8697/79513756.th.jpg (http://img115.imageshack.us/i/79513756.jpg/) http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/6546/61022789.th.jpg (http://img251.imageshack.us/i/61022789.jpg/) http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/5871/84859337.th.jpg (http://img251.imageshack.us/i/84859337.jpg/)
It's about ~$250'ish for the actual OEM-accessory version (comes w/o 3M VHB mounting-tape & no hardware, etc') & $100'ish for the replica OEM-accessory version (comes w/ 3M VHB mounting-tape & hardware, etc'). Both are made of the same material (ABS plastic) & use the same identical mold, as well as the same OEM paint-codes.
Def' get one when you're ready, it changes the overall look of the 8th gen' sedan!

Vixen89 10-14-2009, 10:42 AM I have a bad spending habit, I bought a sway bar, the splash guards, DRLs, lip spoiler, and much much more in one week...and on top of that I already spent 500+ on my car for lighting alone..LOL
ry05coupe 10-14-2009, 11:20 AM I wouldn't even try to add up what I've spent overall on the car... not worth the guilt lol

I've been into cars as far back as I can remember. I wrecked my Z in June, needed a new car, wanted an FJ, but decided on the coupe. I joined in July and bought my car in August.

Can I just say both my parents are overprotective? On a side note, my mom says I'll get cancer if I don't eat Asian food only, but how do you resist all those restaurants in the world..? :lmao:
