7th gens on the palisades? 10-13-09

So today I was driving upstate on the Palisades pkwy in Jersey... I saw a car with yellow high beams, blue HIDs, and yellow fogs behind me in the distance through my rear view mirror.

It was coming up kinda fast... When it came up closer I realized that it was an Accord. It was a silver 7th gen (New York plates) with a 7.5 gen front end and it was lowered with rims. It was weaving in and out of traffic and I followed right behind it... I even threw on my yellow highs as well just to let them know I was savvy to their Accord modding ;)

Eventually it came up on another 7th gen which was red (New Jersey plates). It was also lowered and had blue HIDs and yellow highs, but no fogs...

They both had some kind of lettering on the upper windshield I guess having to do with a club...

They got off exit 9w...

Anyway... Do either of these cars belong to anyone on here?

Not sure but the driver sounds like a tool bag to me. These cars aren't race cars and shouldn't be driven as such.

Anything but 4300-5000K HID's make me vomit.

Do you run 10's in the .25 mile? If not, you're slow :)

I no longer consider any non-big motor car fast anymore.. But I supposed i'm biased as I ride a 2006 GSXR 1000 that will do 190MPH stock, on pump gas.

Sonny you are comparing apples to oranges. Perhaps your post should be over on ride-a-crotch-rocket.net not a car forum.

that still doesn't refute the "slow statement".

Yes, did you mean standing start? :lmao:

I judge a race car by lap times, not straight away speeds. I love drag racing, I still DVR it every weekend that it's on, but there are many kinds of racing and Accords have done all of them.

A little humorous truth "The pyramid of speed":

These guys were flying too! At least the silver one was... I was following him until he got to the red Accord... But even when I was following him, I didnt do some of the things that he did. I kept my distance and switched lanes well after he did.

But Ill say one thing for 7th gens... When lowered, these things handle like little S2000s when taking curves and switching lanes and such... Most likely had upgraded rear sways too.

Once the silver one caught up with the red one, they slowed down and I passed them... They got behind me for a while, and the red one was actually VERY close to my rear bumper which I dont like but......

When their exit came up, (from my rear view mirror) I saw the red one jerk into the pass lane real fast... Looked like absolutely no body roll and it looked very controlled... Were talking 60-70 miles an hour and a crazy jerk of the wheel. Not too shabby

I agree, they handle very will with proper spring rates, dampers and most importantly tires.

Once I modified the suspension on my Accord, I actually dropped my plan of getting an S2000, seriously.

Finally, a serious thread about something other than straight line driving.

The back roads around hre are my favourite

for the type of section our cars are in the accords are fast, especially the v6 it can hang on and pass up alot of other cars as for it being a "race car" there are others but of course there will always be that one car that costs 5 million dollars that is the fastest,

you also need to consider the driver as well, the car does the work but the driver tells it how
