So I got my new bumper in from D&H Auto Parts (Thanks Wardener!), had my new headlights (I had wanted to do it eventually since the stocks were so shot, then seeing the other thread and realizing that I'd have to take the bumper off to change it I decided to do it in one shot), and this is what it looks like now.

And boy does it fit like OJs glove, and by that I mean I got scared it wasnt gonna fit. Absolutely perfect fit. And the color is really, really, really close. And I think you wont be able to tell the difference once I get my car detailed on Monday. I'll wait til then to take the better pics.

These are the headlights that I chose. I went with these because I think not having the amber lens looks a lot cleaner, especially with the color of my car.

These were all taken with my camera phone, I'll put up some better ones once it stops raining.
Learned some good lessons doing this. I took 2 days to do it, the first just swapping the headlights. 1st lesson: Strapping up the inner fender skirts so that I dont rip them off when I drive over them :headbash:. And 2ndly, thinking all the way through what I may want to do while the car is apart. Like wanting to put in LED corners, but not realizing what I'd have to do to get to them because of them being inaccessible from the engine bay.
So now I'm just waiting for my LEDs to arrive as well as my new inner fender skirts...then maybe, just maybe I'll be satisfied for a while, lol.

Oh, and the damage from that f-ing belgian block curb? Also busted the air chamber box thing, so now I have an excuse to get an aftermarket intake kit!!

This is painted from dnhautoparts.com, or did you paint locally?

THAT Mother looks Mighty FINE! Can you say "Factory Original?"

I think you mentioned you bought your cover prepainted. I believe D&H uses DuPont, which is a very good finish. Involving Satin Silver Metallic (NH623M), a slight variation in hue/tone won't really matter. And, bear in mind you're putting new paint with your original paint, so you can't reasonably expect a perfect match.

Earlier this year, I bought unpainted front and rear covers for my '02 from D&H. Paid $314.80 for them, sitting on my front porch. I then had them sprayed locally, with Sikkens. With new fender liners, front splash panel, and new fasteners (speednuts, bolts, screws, clips, everything), I am thoroughly pleased with the end result. (I bought the liners and panel from Majestic Honda for ~$115.) And just like yourself, I killed two birds with one stone...since I had to remove the front cover anyway to do my tranny cooler project.

While somewhat attractive, aftermarket headlamp components (HID projectors, bulbs, etc.) are just not my "thing." Instead, I bagged a pair of Taiwanese OEM-style headlamps off of Ebay for $89.90, delivered. I have them stashed away until my originals absolutely need to be replaced. (I seldom drive at night. What the Hell do I care about fancy headlights? :dunno:)

Anyhow, back to "Square One." Your "Ride" is a "Clean Machine!" You be "stylin'," Man! :D

Yes, they were painted by D&H. Not too bad for $295 shipped.

Wardener:
I too have all new clips and fasteners and such. My headlights also cost me $90 shipped from ebay, and besides the difference in brightness from the new lens, you can only tell they dont have the amber lens during the day. Which is just what I wanted lol. Now I just have to wait for Monday to get here to put in my fender liners and the front end will be done.

Thanks guys!

Personally, I'd rather have YOUR bumper cover...since 2001-2002 front cover has the fog lamp openings (with black garnishes)...which I actually HATE. The earlier (1998-2000) cover looks much cleaner and slicker, in my book. But, my being such a stickler for authenticity and originality, I used what is OEM correct.

Again, nice job! Your car looks brand-damn NEW!

trade you bumpers then?

i actually like the '01 - '02 front bumper look of the 6th gen MORE than the '99 - '00 bumper look of the 6th gen. we both have the same color cars too! the only thing though would be that i have two blemishes on the passenger side of the bumper.
