: Is this true or BS
Ran across this product anybody have any experience with it and do you think the claims they make are true and would it actually make a difference in how the car runs.
Thanks guys.

Get maximum performance out of your fuel with the Fitch Fuel Catalyst.
The Fitch Fuel Catalysts transform gasoline and diesel into superior quality fuel. Get more performance out of your engines for less--less money, less pollution, and less maintenance headaches. The Fitch Fuel Catalysts are permanent fuel treatment devices that reformulate fuel, resuscitate partially oxidized fuel, and suppress the growth of bacteria in fuel. Fitch Fuel Catalysts ensure that all fuel delivered to combustion engines is in optimal condition, allowing the engines to extract the maximum amount of energy with minimal emissions per kg of fuel. Once fuel has been refined, it sits in a holding tank, is pumped into transport vehicles, is shipped worldwide, sits in the holding tank at a gas station, and then you purchase it. That fuel refined as 93 octane has substantially lost its potency and freshness. The Fitch Fuel Catalysts help return gas station grade gasoline or diesel fuel back to its refinery-fresh state for increased fuel economy and performance. Fitch Fuel Catalysts offer a better quality of fuel, which translates into better engine performance. The Fitch Fuel Catalysts are maintenance-free devices that are warranted for 250,000 miles. The Fitch Fuel Catalysts can easily be installed in the fuel line, much like a fuel filter, or directly into the fuel tank.
DirtyByrd13 10-28-2009, 09:42 PM Hmmm, looks interesting. I'm kind of curious myself.
I wonder how exactly it "treats" and "reformulates" the fuel. Sounds like a big stinking pile, but maybe. Even if it does work as it's advertised though, is it really worth the $200 plus however much it would cost to have installed into a fuel tank? Maybe that's why it's warrantied for 250k miles; bc it takes that long to get your investment out of it. :lmao:
Seriously though, I'd also like to know if it's legit.
The Pope 10-29-2009, 02:05 AM I think I'll call BS on this. Looks as if it's just another fuel filter.
Looks like it can be installed other place not just the fuel tank,Like under the hood.
Since fuel quality here is terrible, I've installed several of such "fuel improvement systems" on my previous car. They all promised higher MPG, less pollution, less engine deterioration, and gave none of the above. This one is more expensive then the ones I've had, but I don't think it could make that much of a difference.

Wouldn't it will be better for your engine even if millage stayed same but it cleaned the fuel?
Yes, I agree.
I get to know the car I'm driving very well - so does anyone, I suppose. And when I travel abroad, I notice that my car (any car I've driven here & abroad) runs better on higher-quality fuel.
However, I didn't notice any such difference after installing those "fuel cleaning systems" or whatever they are. My first concern was to extend life of the engine, and if MPG pays the cost - cool.
Sorry I wasn't clear enough with details :D
mpumas 10-29-2009, 02:41 PM The claims of their device is similar to the claim of snake oil. There are many mistatements. Most fuel used these days is refined to 87 octane. Some is refined to preminum. Mid-grade is a mixture or 87 and 93 octane. Unless you are buying your fuel at a low volume outlet, it is no more then 3-4 days old from the refinery so it doesn't have time to degrade. The biggest problem with old fuel is water intrusion/condensation and dirt particles. All stock filters will take care of the later. Few will take care of the former. Save your money and buy at high volume outlets and keep your tank at half full or greater and you've got it as good as it gets.

Your right Bro., what a pile. I read the claims on the website, it sounds like they are REALLY STRETCHING THE TRUTH.
I guess one could say it "reformulates the fuel". I mean it does pass through a filter medium and this would (sort of) reformulate the fuel right.:lmao:
I going to clean off my shoes now.......:lmao:
DirtyByrd13 10-29-2009, 09:09 PM The only way to sell a product is to over hype the shit out of it. Take most every fuel additive on the market for example. They can actually have an adverse affect on your gas mileage; but every time I go to autozone they tell me how much I "need" to buy one of these products. BS. The only one I would ever consider though is Lucas.
elp_jc 10-30-2009, 07:03 AM Bs.

Over the years, I've gradually gotten accustomed to the fact that there are a lot of gullible, foolish, ignorant, and outright stupid people on this planet.
As Phineas T. Barnum, the famous Circus man, famously said:
"There's a ****er born, every minute." And, "NEVER give a ****er an even break!" :lmao:
My landlord has a wholesale/retail for trucks parts. I've just been talking to him about all of these "magic fuel treatments/systems" and he had used an interesting phrase: It's all tax on foolishness ;)
Well that's why I asked before I made the mistake of buying it.I dont know allot about cars Im still learning.I ask you guys because I feel for some crazy reason that you may provide knowledgeable help .******* and Lana your not helping me any.Input what you actually know about the product and if you know nothing your better off not to post anything.

Fine. I shall be very lucid and concise with you. It's like this, Berg.
The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is a waste of money...along with the time and labor needed to install/maintain it. Rather much like the "Vortex" devices you install on the intake system, which promise outrageous gains in BHP and fuel economy. If these "Rube Goldberg" contraptions actually worked, they would be installed at the factory, else offered in the accessories catalog. Accompanied with enough gushy hyperbole, even a worthless gimmick can be sold to a FOOL.

******* may come off as an old-fashioned a$$ at first, but he means well. He may pick on you a little bit at first to teach you a lesson, but that's just his way of helping.
It's all in good humor. You should have seen the hard time he gave me about my AEM ram air intake. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

You make a rather accurate and fair characterization of me, to be sure.
I am NOT out to win any "Personality" or "Popularity" contests. My basic temperment and nature is rather caustic and abrasive. I am strongly opinionated, with my mind (and heart) guided ONLY by logic and reason, applied to the relevant facts, as they are presented unto me. It's just the way I am "wired" and "programmed."
I am a very polarizing figure. Just like God or Satan, you either love me...or you hate me. There is NO fence-straddling, NO middle ground.
It is HARD and PAINFUL, being "Me." Oft times, I'd rather be a Paramecium. Or a bacteria culture. Perhaps an atom of Hydrogen. :D
I WILL always tell you, fast enough, what you seem to think is right, occurs to me to be entirely WRONG! Without hesitation, and without remorse.
Had I pursued a career in Politics, especially in Washington (a.k.a., The District of Corruption), I would have been a DISMAL failure. In ANY Government scenario, I would NOT have lasted even three (3) minutes. :thumbsdow
Born as a Nerd/Geek kid, I had NO other viable choice but to become a Scientist, if I was to serve any meaningful role/function, in society. Then, to TRY to help others, with my education and experience, as an "Inga-Neer."
What do I enjoy MOST? THINKING...and MAKING OTHERS THINK!
"The penultimate forms of human conduct are SEX...and THOUGHT." (Socrates)
"A popular Government, without popular information, or the means to acquire it, is but a prologue to a farce, or a tragedy, if not both. KNOWLEDGE WILL FOREVER GOVERN IGNORANCE. And a people, who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the POWER which KNOWLEDGE gives." (James Madison, Fourth U.S. President). :notworthy
umm ok....:dunno: Well i don't care about the personality traits of people in this forum.I simply ask for answers and not sarcasm and personality. If he is a polarizing figure that doesn't mean anything to me.This is a place I come to for answers about Honda Accords.Nothing more nothing less.Lets not make this too complicated
