Since I'm getting the HFP suspension installed tomorrow, I need to look at some wheels. I've been avoiding it so far because I saw no reason to upgrade the wheels without lowering my car first.

So, please tell me which of these wheels would look good on PMM coupe.

They are listed from left to right, top to bottom:

Privat Vulkan (20x8.5, 35 offset)

Privat Renstadt (20x8.5, 38 offset)

Privat Zentralle (20x8.5, 38 offset)

Konig Beyond (20x9, 45 offset)

Konig Stampede (20x9, 45 offset)

Will any of these rims stick out on the front?

Can any wheel expert help me determine if these wheels will fit without sticking out further than the front fender (I know the rear will be fine)?

Thanks!

I don't really like any of them but I would pick the Stampede. None of those rims will stick out in the front and definitely not in the rear.

I like the Renstadt .... and 2nd choice, the stampede but spokes are a little thin...nice design though.

Have you checked out the 19'' HFP wheels? Those look great on PMM.

I like the first ones, remind me of the Axis Zero's/Angle's with the concave face.

I've decided against HFP 19" wheels mainly because of the 55 offset. Sticks in too much in the back, especially after I get my HFP suspension today.

I think 20" wheels will look better on our coupes.

I like vulkan because it has "titanium" finish. Stampede will look nice also. I need to go to local American tires and see if they can match the Ebay store's prices. If they can, then they have my business.

I like this one:
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26287&stc=1&d=1256794389

it will not stick out in front either.

Wish they made them staggered with a deeper concavity for the rear though.

Perhaps some spacers can help that though. even with +45 its still toing to stick way too far in on the rear.

The bodies of the coupes just dotn look right without a staggered setup the wheel wells are freakin huge.

OP - Since you mentioned above that you like the Privat Vulcan or Konig Stampede wheels, go with your gut instincts. The Vulcan has the lowest offsets of the wheels you listed, so they'll push outwards towards the fenders. The front should be pretty flush, and the rear will be close. Since you're so used to looking at the OEM 18" with +55 offset, either way they'll look great.

Thanks for the replies/opinions guys.

I'm leaning towards the Privat vulkan. Easily available at decent price.

Vulkan 20x8.5 comes in two different offsets: 35 and 45.

Which one should I get? 35 or 45 offset?

Hey Hittman,

You mentioned your 19x8 wheels with 35 offset sticks out a little at the front. So, if I get 20x8.5 with 35 offset, wouldn't that stick out even more?

I don't want any part of the wheel or tire to stick out beyond the fender.

I like the Konig on the black Accord..But Im too cheap to spend $2000+ on wheels when the ones that came with the car are perfectly fine.....I would go for some Chrome wheel skins though...LOL

I was thinking the same way until I decided to upgrade to HFP suspension (stock suspension is too soft for my taste).

I think you can get these wheels/tires package for about $1500 shipped. So, if I can get $700-$800 for my OEM wheels/tires, I'm only spending $700-$800. I think it's worth it.

20x8.5 + 35 will be pretty damn close to flush, you will not stick out past the fender but if your car is lowered a lot you will likely rub JUST a little.

The rear 20x8.5 +35 will look okay but it wont be perfectly flush either. but you definitly wont have any rubbing problems or sticking out problems.

If it was me I'd do the +45 offset up front, and the +35 offset in the rear.

With the different offsets, you really couldn't rotate tires, unless you lucked into some bi-directional tread.

I don't know how much OP would rub with the HFP drop, as it is only 0.98". But it something I need to figure out, cuz I was gonna go with HFP suspension and I don't want to rub!

You read my mind! I was thinking about that but I won't be able to rotate. So that's not an option for me.

Since my rims will be 0.5" wider than your 19x8.0, I'm definitely thinking it will stick out since you said yours sticks out a little.

why couldn't you rotate the tires again?

take the car to a tire shop.

dismount the tires

rotate them

remount

i dont see what the problem is here.

This is something you do what? once a year? wouldn't cost more than $100 to do. less than that, around here.

I'm telling you i did the math, if you do 45 up front and 35 in the rear you'll be fine-- zero rubbing. HFP drop is like not even being lowered at all. You could probably stick outta the fender well and only rub on really hard bumps as high as an hfp "drop" is --- yes i'm exaggerating but the point is 45 front 35 rear and you're in the clear.

So maybe go with the +45 offset, and entertain the idea of some 10mm hub-centric spacers in the rear if the tucked look bothers you. Would that work?

starbai

This is an opinion. From someone thats used spacers several times in the past.

DONT use them if you dont have to. IF you've already got a set of rims and its the only way to achieve the look you want, then okay.

If you're about to buy wheels, dont buy them with the expectation of using spacers with them.

If all this is about simply rotating the tires. I seriously and truely believe your better off just taking them to a tire shop, and having them dismount the tires from the rims, rotate them and put them back.

the benefit of the lower offset is also likely a deeper nicer lip too. Or in this case a more concave (hotness) face

Ordered the Privat Vulkans (20x8.5 45 offset) today with Nitto 555's (245 35 20). $1700 OTD. :banana::banana::banana:
Not bad considering I got them from local America's Tires who matched internet price (Performanceplus tires). I prefer local shops since it's much easier to deal with in case of warranty/install issues.

Can't wait to get them installed next week. I'll be sure to post some pics.

Thanks starbai and hittman for your inputs. I decided against (even though I wanted to) different offsets front and back. Dismounting and mounting tires every time I rotate tires seemed too much hassle for me.

Those wheels you chose are hot...my personal favorite of the bunch you posted. Definitely post pics of 'em on your car after she's all done.

What kind of tires did they come with?

I chose Nitto 555's (245 35 20). They had pretty good reviews and price was reasonable.

Now I need to sell my OEM 18". Any takers? :D

make sure you post pics. I feel like they're going to sit way to far into the wheel well in the back. I'd like to see how it comes out!

Either way great looking wheels, and if u end up not liking it, picking up a set of 15mm spacers will solve your tire rotation issue and will help flush out the rear a little more.

"Stampede" is pulling away in the polls. I really like that wheel as well but I wanted the "titanium" finish over the painted gray finish.
