ebxgsxr 11-02-2009, 07:39 PM just wanted to say hi. just got my 98 accord since i found out my wife is having our 1st child. needed a realiable sedan & of course the accord came to mind. im old, but im not dead. trying to get some things done to the car. found a set of used coilovers that ill be installing once they come in. also a short shifter & some tint. not looking to go fast, but definitely want it to handle better and look a certain way. any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could always look into a sway bar, but I don't think that's a big issue on the '98 sedans compared to my '08 sedan which had a tiny 13mm sway bar...!! I think you got down the tints for your child, and I don't think there's much else to do besides looks or performance in the engine-wise. Pictures please! :)
coolblue07 11-03-2009, 05:58 AM welcome to DA..congratz
lpaudio2 11-03-2009, 06:12 AM yes sway bar. Great upgrade. See the 7th gen sticky for acura PN. The end links usually go bad anyway (there is a tsb covering 98-05 accords), so its a very worthwhile upgrade, reduces understeer, makes the car more balanced.
Can also look for a strut tower brace. That will help some too. Check your engine and body mounts. Worn or ceased will degrade handling too (and cheap to replace). Energy may make a suspension bushing kit for the car... good stuff!
What kind of coil-overs? Do they have adjustable dampening?
searich07 11-03-2009, 08:30 AM ebxgsxr, welcome to Drive Accord form, congratulations on coming first child, they grow quickly. Fact is that time passes quicker than you can spend it. Blessings to you and your family, I hope you enjoy this forum and your new ’98 accord. I had a 1999 EX V6 metallic green, which served me well. Regards
Richard

nehonda 11-04-2009, 04:32 AM Welcome to the forum.
If you want to keep your 98 reliable, make sure the maintenance is current. Timing belt, water pump change every 100k is critical. If its an automatic the ATF should be changed every 20k - 30k miles. Lots of good info here if you look for it.
Good Luck
ebxgsxr 11-04-2009, 02:42 PM thanks. i bought it with 109k on the clock. before i even had the regular tags on it, i had the timing belt & water pump & coolant flush done. also did some other things like ball joint & alignment.
