For those people who have the 2006 Accord with the updated, faster 4th-gen navi, perhaps you could answer my questions:
1) What are waypoints ? (new feature)
2) How is the new voice recognition feature where you can say street/city names. Does it work well ?
thanks.

Waypoints let you put in secondary destinations that the GPS will guide you to before your final destination. For instance, if you're in NYC and you want to go to Boston, MA, but you want to stop by Hoboken, NJ to pick up some friends first, you could enter in Boston as the destination and Hoboken as a waypoint so it will direct you to Hoboken first before it directs you to Boston. It's nothing special.
I'll leave it to some that actually has an '06 Navi to answer the second question. My guess is it will have it's flaws and will sometimes try to guess the correct street name incorrectly. :)

Thanks SSMV6.
Even with the voice recognition flaws, I rather have it than not. When we considered the G35x recently, we were dismayed to learn that the navi didn't have a touch-screen display and voice recognition. We made a few errors when trying to use the wobbly nav-stick. This didn't happen at all with the Accord's touch-screen display.
Another thing that bothered us with the G35's navi was the inability to use the navi unless the vehicle is in park. I know why they did this, but what about the front passenger being able to make changes/new entries ?
We still love the styling/handling of the G35, but besides the inferior navi (although the bird's eye view is a cool feature), the poor fuel economy is another reason not to like it. Nissan has a lot to learn from Honda when it comes to high performance/good fuel economy.

Interesting. This appears to be less of a hassle than using "Today's destinations" in the 03-05 Navi which essentially does the same thing, except that there is a little more work ordering your waypoints and final destination.

This "safety" feature bothers me too. Toyota does the same thing, IIRC, and it's one of the reasons I like Honda's better. But what it all boils down to is the lawyers, and a few idiots who concentrate more on the navi than on the road.
