Here lies my husband, who's dearly loved
He's dead and gone up, above
His end came quick by my employ
When he came home with another TOY!!

Happy Halloween!

Here's one that was made for our son, several years ago:

Eric was nice & sort of silly
Then he ate his mom's hot chile
He had his fill, which wasn't smart
He died from his own SONIC fart!

:D

That's quite a collection!! Wow!

The toys here are from a wide variety....

Saws, routers, & other power tools.....
Additions to the cars......
All kinds of electronic gadgets.....
Things to test the electronic gadgets......

I tease him about them, but I honestly don't care.

You know, in college when I lived in the Fraternity, the guys above me had the same set up. I hated that room... :)

Wards, You & my prince would have so much fun just chatting about your collection of toys!!

He's had all kinds of radio control toys, the neatest was a 'copter.

We've done photography, including darkroom developing.

Of course, fishing & skiing, boating.

Guns.

All the before mentioned car & electronic stuff. Who NEEDS 3 oscellascopes??? (I know that's not spelled correctly... I'm a bit brain dead tonight....the youngest daughter just left after having all 3 boys here for HOURS while she was using my sewing machine.... she needed to make a "joker" costume to go with her "batman" & "robin")

Tools for everything! I think they only thing we've ever borrowed was a rototiller. We've layed tile, roofed, remodeled each room.....

Anyway, I think the stories about all the stuff collected would take weeks!

:D

For two years I went trick or treating with my kids and dressed up as a dalmatian, with my then 2 year old dressed as a little dalmatian. Sold the costume on eBay a month ago.

And no, you can't see the pics :p

My 3 year old went as Clifford, the 4 month old will be out next year :)

Had a pretty good time, until I had to carry him a block home because he thought he had enough candy. ENOUGH CANDY???? C'mon, a couple more houses! :(

Needless to say, Daddy always ends up with the crappy candy :bawling: :D

Probably!! I love showing off the grandkids!! Probably only the boys, since the rest live 3 hours away.:(

I look like I'm dressed for Halloween now! Painted on sweats that are 9 miles too big, a pukey shade of green shirt & a yellow bandana. Cute!

Hall got painted.....we were just a bit slower than I thought....done by 10:30. Luckily Behr usually only needs one coat! That trim takes forever!

I think I mentioned in this year's Halloween thread that the boys are going to be Eeeyore, Mickey & Cookie Monster. I love to dress up, but not prince. I don't plan to this year though. We aren't planning to go to any parties this year. BUT who knows, sometimes I dress up just to hand out candy. I have slumped in a chair in the yard to look like a stuffed creature....then scared people when they came closer. I just love the reactions!!

atleast you don't have to tape off the trim! ours is stained wood trim, so it was a huge pain to tape it all off when we painted when we moved in!

can't wait to see thepics of everyone all dressed up!!

i was decorating the other day at my house. not much though!

princess

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the decorations down, but if I do, I'll wait until 2 weeks before. Some of our neighbors go all out for every holiday or occation.

i have a couple of cute little metal black cat things that hold metal pumpins for candles that i stick outside. sometimes i also change the porch light to a black light if i feel like it... not much more for halloween though! oh, wait i forgot about marcus the carcus!!! silly decoration but everyone loved him last year! (looks like someone trying to break out of a grave or sometihng.)

So what kind of candy do you give out, people??

We give babies the loopy handled suckers, teens that don't bother dressing up "dum-dums", the rest get kitkats, junior mints, hersheys minitures, snickers, 3 muskateers, reeses peanutbutter cups.... OK we're choc-a-holics & my prince eats almost as much candy as we give out!

This year it'll be different for me.... I have sugar free reeses, hersheys, junior mints (not mine)..... He actually thought since we don't plan to eat the candy we give out that we could just buy the cheaper mixed bags..... uh, NO..... we do still have a reputation!

Besides, I'm due to refill all the candy jars for the grandkids' bribes & spoiling!! Funny thing is I can usually do just as well with them with an apple.... so I do more often than not.

This week we found "grapples"! They smell & taste very grapey, but look like an apple. I think they were water with grape coolaid or something. The grape tastes artifical like that. :(

Ya'll really need to come to Vegas for Halloween one year.:D

The casinos have tons of publicity dollars that they throw out each year in an effort to out do one another. As a result places like the Circus Circus turns their "Adventure Dome" into the "Frightdome" for the night. One of the hallmarks of their show is the fact that professional make up people do all the make up for the characters. It looks like the real deal and the kids love it. Mom and Dad may come out ashen faced and having nightmares but the kids come out headed back for the entrance again:D

The MGM has a "Frightnight Party" that is rather more adult oriented in the hot nightclub they run. The Mirage and Treasure Island seem to always have a more Carnival atmospere that includes some more "Pro" make up and effects. The Fremont Street Experience has a Halloween Lightshow and the whole place is charactered with a Mardi Gras Atmosphere that runs 4 blocks long and is usually packed.

Of course, being Las Vegas, it is just one more reason to party, party, party! New Years is the biggest one of all where they just rope off sections of the city and it's block parties for 36 hours if you can last that long. The day after early morning "dog walk" looks more like a scene after a Nuclear Meltdown than what I'm used to, people are sleeping in their cars all up and down a street that is usually thinly parked.:D :D  :D :D

Our numbers were higher this year over last.... but the night before someone stole my perfect white pumpkin off my porch! Nicholas gave me his from school though!

Losing the pumpkin was disappointing, but the idea that someone in our neighbor is stealing is just a bad feeling!!:(
