I have an 03 4cyl exl coupe. There is a rattling noise just under the pully over my shoulder on the drivers side seat belt. If I press on the area below it, it stops. Any ideas? Has anyone else had an issue with this area?
First, welcome to our little group here! (little, but growing fast!)
I find your topic very interesting, because I was just about to post something very similar.
I have a small rattle/noise that I have noticed while riding in the front passenger seat on my '04 EX sedan. At first, I thought it was coming from the passenger-side rear door...but I have not had a chance to sit back there and confirm my thoughts.
But now that you have posted this, I am wondering if that is the same place my noise is coming from. Perhaps it has something to do w/ the mechanism for the adjustable seat belts. I'm assuming all the Accords have that feature?
Anyway, do you press on the area just below the adjusting mechanism? I will try the same thing next time the wife lets me ride in her car and see if that stops the noise for me as well.
One of our members, Princess, has access to TSBs from Honda.
Princess, is there anything you have that may help explain this rattle?

is the noise a metallic, ching? Sort of like a spring moving?
I don't see any bulletins on seat belt noises. The reason I'm asking is because my '02 had a ching where the belt attaches to the "wall", covered by plastic. Drove me crazy! I had the whole thing replaced & the new one did the same thing & louder!

yes, just under the adjuster, I press just under that and it seems to stop the noise.
The noise sounds like something plastic, between the ouside (plastic) and the body (metal) It almost sounds like plastic on plastic though. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the seat belt mechanism, because the sound does not change when I tug or pull all the belt out.
On another note..... I had another rattle in the door, near the lock. If I press on the door panel it goes away. I read somewhere that it is most likely the glide for the window. It is more of a vibration than a rattle though. Sounds like somtheing metal vibrating. I was thinking maybe window guides or lock linkage. Any thoughts?

I see nothing on the noises you've described. If anything new comes along it will be posted with the other bulletins.
Sorry I can't help more, but until there's enough complaints Honda can't know what will fix it. Ask if someonecan go for a ride with you. Some dealers will have their service writers do that so the technicians aren't pulled away from their jobs. Either way maybe they have heard it before or can help you figure it out.

yeah, one of these days I am going to have my wife drive around and I will be invistigating noises. Probably nothin a little foam tape couldn't fix.

Even if you find that some foam will help you should still report it to Honda so others can have it fixed. They can't change the design or do something different if they don't know there's a problem.

Yes, EXACTLY same problems plus more!
1: The noise you descirbed from the seatbelt, the noise is just right behind my left ear while I am driving over a bump.
2: rattle / virbratting noise from the driver side front door. I can hear it very clear, I hear it while I am driving but sometimes I can also hear it when I stop at red lights.
3: rattle noise frm passager side front door or glovebox, I know there is a rattle noise coming from this area when my car over a bump, just not sure exactly which area (coz I am the driver!)
4: noise from the dashboard.
5: sparking noise from sunroof. If I open the sunroof, after few minutes, I can hear a sparking noise from the sunroof.
I have been in the dealership twice. They said they coundl't hear any noise/rattle. except one dealership could reproduce the sunroof sparking noise once, and they claimed that they have fixed it, BUT.... I still hear the sparking noise on my way back to home.
Did you fix you problem yet? what can I do? these kind of problem is REALLY annoying!!! REALLY ANNOYING!!!
BTW, anyone in Toronto has the same problem?
Thanks!

I had that same seat belt problem in my 04 sedan. It would go away by pressing on the shoulder anchor. Very annoying - even pavement expansion joints would cause it. Didn't help that it's right next to your ear.
My dealer, however, fixed it the first time I took it in. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly what they did, but that seems to indicate it's something dealers are aware of.

Well, this rattle came back, I had them fix it again last fall, and it was gone - for about a week. I decided to just live with it, and turn up the stereo to drown it out.
But...the last time it was fixed, they must have done something that caused the belt's shoulder height adjuster to jam in place. I only noticed it recently, since I never mess with the height. No amount of pushing/pulling/cursing helps. Back to the dealer monday.

I have the same noise but it only occurs when the temperature is very cold. My car is due for an oil change so I'm going to request that the dealer fix the problem. ... but since it ain't too cold now they won't be able to reproduce the noise.
The headliner krinkle sound is also an intermittent problem that I expect the dealer is going to have a hard time fixing. I'm supprised Honda hasn't released a TSB for the headliner problem since it sounds like most people have this problem. :dunno:
