Graphite pearl... not just graphite! :D

The "pearl" makes it sound much more sophisticated!

I can't change it! You can. They're all "pearl" except white, mist & silver.

What color is "graphite" to you? Some call it dark gray. Some call it a light black. Some a brownish black.....

Nearly every year at least one color has a difficult description. Some tans have had a pink or gold tint. The light green/blue of the 94-98 was rarely called green like the name. This stuff gets confusing when they're in for a service! If they put blue when it's light green it can take quite a while to find it in the lot!

The eternal blue looks purply in the garage under florescent lights. Then black in the shade.

I did remember to include the coupe colors! They have a different blue, red & green.:)

I get extra points for that, right?

Thanks!!! I really am interested in what people are concidering their favorite. I'd originally planned to get the black, but perfered the gray interior. I also love this blue in the sunlight! The coupe's blue (sapphire) is very pretty, but the metal flakes are a bit bigger. Not the look I was after.

So how would you describe the color of graphite pearl?

I have to agree with princess here! The Eternal Blue Pearl is beautiful! (I think it may be even nicer than the custom electric blue pearl I had mixed for my motorcycle!).

Big problem is getting rid of the "swirls" in the Hood, Roof, etc. (Thank You unnamed Honda dealer! NOT:censored: )

I've picked up some "Scatch-X" I'm planning on using to clean up the swirls unless somebody yells "STOP - Don't do that!"

pshivers,

check out Zaino bros. online first! They have a "clay bar" ( I think that's what it's callled) & if I'm remembering right, it's for swirls & such. I think it can be used even if you don't choose to treat it with their stuff.

We lucked out. No swirls! It's a miracle because it was at 3 different dealers!

Claying is not going to get out swirls, it's for surface contaminants that washing does not remove.

Scratch X is a great product, but I'd try something a bit less aggressive first. I have a few almost invisible scratches on the trunk, which I'm sure are from the dealer prep, and I'll be using Mother's Glaze and Sealer. It will fill and seal and minor scratches and swirls. Then you can put a coat of wax over it.

I agree with Bean. Clay will not remove swirl, it will help prevent swirl if used before you polish/seal/wax though. You need a swirl remover (which comes in different strengths) from 3M, Mothers, Meguiars and others. If you can't remove by hand, you can use an orbital buffer (if you have one and know how to use it). Never use a high-speed buffer unless you're a pro.

Edmunds has a couple of very good detailing forums. One for store bought and most other products and the other for the "Z" products. (Zaino).

Here's a good detailing (http://www.properautocare.com/index.html) site with lots of products and info.

pshivers, bean & according2me,

Ok, now you know who did all the work on our cars!!!

I just remember pieces of the "sales pitch" I got when he bought the first batch of the stuff when it was a new discovery on his part. My thoughts were more on, "boy, that sounds like a lot of work!"

If you do choose to use Zaino or other NONwax product, then make sure you use whatever their prep is. THAT I do know! We had a year of several coats of good wax removal for the '02 before we put the Zaino on.
