Well, stupid me didn't read everything about what I was purchasing so my new speakers - Infinity Kappas (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2HYxcmyBaLe/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=400&I=1086927I) have some type of crossover which is a small plastic piece about 2 x1 x 1/2 inches. Anyone have any suggestions where to attach this? I was thinking about using some twist ties and attaching to the metal frame of the rear seat. Would this work?

Thanks in advance,
Ted

It's not important where you mount it as long as it doesn't rattle. Why don't you just use some double sided tape and stick it on the underside of the rear deck? Another alternative is to tiewrap it to the trunk rods which add tension to the trunk when opening. There really isn't a wrong place. Good luck.

Good idea - maybe I'll get the tape or velcro to attach.

Actually taped it right behind the liner on each side of the trunk. No rattles.

Hi, my first post, but I just installed infinity kappas for both my front and back last week. The crossovers in the trunk, I put a small piece of dynamat under the thing, the took a long piece of dynamat and taped it behind the lining on each side. Works great.

Did you do the fronts? How hard was it to change the crossovers on the tweeters?

what do you mean change the crossovers? Do you mean add them? I just did the same thing as I did to the rears in the trunk, only in my door.

Got it. That's what I was trying to say. BTW - did you use original dynamat or the extreme version. Just trying to look around and find it cheaper somewhere.

I used extreme. It made a slight difference, but that's most likely because I only used a small amout around the speakers and scattered around my trunk since this stuff is so expensive.

Hello,
I also installed infinity kappas but I have not hooked up the wires b/c I am not sure which one is the positive terminal on each side(rear). I have a silver 2006 accord sedan. Can you tell me
the color code for the + and -.
Thanks in advance.

Honda/Acura is usually yellow stripe+ white stripe - but not sure on 7th gens.

RTF or someone else that has replaced their rears on 7th gen could tell for sure.

Thank you for the reply regarding the color codes..I was able to find a post by Princess regarding the radio color coding on a 2005 Accord...so I just used that as a guide. It matches exactly my 2006 accord color coding on the rear speaker connector.
With regards to the crossover I just velcrod it in to the metal frame --so far it works great and it sounds much better than the oem speakers.
Has anybody tried not using the crossover on the kappas? I read in this thread (diff speakers though) that it gives you more bass if you dont use the cross overs..Just wondering if anybody has tried this..
