"The deal clears the way for the summit to focus on how poorer nations can benefit from the digital revolution."

First they need to define what is meant by "poorer nation". If they mean people who live in the jungles of S. America or the plains of Africa then good luck in getting them AC power first. I'm not sure that these "poorer nations" would want to have the internet as their first priority. :dunno:

ICANN should be renamed to ICAN'T because they were basically powerless against Verisign when they implemented the sitefinder nonsense which horribly broke DNS.

Basically my point is that ICANN can't do jack because Verisign is the one who owns the root servers, thanks to a nice Government contract way back.

Maybe the disenfranchised french "youths" will stop burning cars if we let them join the digital revolution?

Oh yeah, they are coordinating their terrorism via text messaging, so never mind. :paranoid: Sounds like a digital revolution to me!
