View Full Version : Best Accord For the Money
Accord4Life 11-17-2005, 06:10 PM Hey everyone,
I was just online playign around on Honda's Build and Price tool. And whilie I was there I thought that everyone should say what they think is is the BEST Accord you can buy with your money, and when I say that I mean priced with acessories etc. Basic Value, but still with some flare. GO on Honda.com, build your Accord, and then submit the link in your reply post.
Cheers
BenjiBoy650 11-17-2005, 06:24 PM Looking at it, I initially thought the LX SE was the best deal. But then I thought ya know I don't really like the wheels and stuff...if I wanted those wheels I'd have to go up to an EX-L to entice me (want leather). But then it makes no sense to drop down to the LX because it's only $700 to add the SE pack and it's got a lot of good stuff. So in the end, I think I can settle for a VP. The unpainted, unpowered mirrors are no big deal and I'll "fix" that sound system and change the wheels anyway, and still spend less money than everybody else, even though I got to customize the car to my specs
Accord4Life 11-17-2005, 06:34 PM Here's my vote!
1. LX Sedan w/'Utility' Package. Abit pricey, yes but it offers LOTS of great things for someone who travels alot, or does things outdoors alot.

2. VP Sedan w/Luxury Sport Package. This one is actually not bad for the price, I think that with just a few acessories you can make any base model shine! Of course I don't really call this a 'Base' Model. This is like the EX of 10 years ago!
3. LX V6 Sedan w/'Touch of Class' Package - Basic exterior accents and what not for a classy appearence. http://automobiles.honda.com/tools/buildandprice/frame.asp?SERIES=5&SERIESNAME=Accord%20Sedan&YEAR=2006&RURL=/models/costofownership.asp%3FModelName%3DAccord+Sedan
4.EX V6 6-spd Coupe Sport pkg- http://automobiles.honda.com/tools/buildandprice/frame.asp?SERIES=24&SERIESNAME=Accord%20Coupe&YEAR=2006&RURL=/models/costofownership.asp%3FModelName%3DAccord+Sedan
Thats all I got...

I like the way you look at it. Your right, you could SAVE alot of money by buying a VP and then just fix it up to your own specs with aftermarket parts. And save alot of money. I would even send those un-painted parts of the exterior in for a color match too.
BenjiBoy650 11-17-2005, 06:43 PM By the way, your links bring you to a stock VP...the customizations don't save when you post the link.
I wouldn't color match the trim, sometimes it makes a nice contrast. I've seen some white Sienna's with black plastic roofrack and mirrors and stuff that look really sharp (albeit much like the white vans of USPS...). I think on some colors, the half painted mirrors would look much better if they were just plain black :lmao: :dunno:

Thooks 11-18-2005, 05:10 AM I think it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for basic, long-lasting, economical transportation, then a Value Pack is the way to go, IMO. I think of cars as nothing but a losing proposition. There is no way to amortize them as a private individual. All the crap people add on to them (I'm talking muffler, air filter, body kit, stereo, etc.) is just more money down the drain that hard to recoup.
If you are looking for a "family car" that doubles as basic transportation, want or appreciate more goodies, along with leather, then the EX-L is hard to beat.
I've been in some very remote places in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia and found my way out and back home with a map, so I see absolutely no need for a Navigational System. I do not travel to Houston, Chicago, NYC, LA, or Dallas/FW in a my private vehicles. If I need to know how to get around somewhere, I'll pick up a map.
tdbear 11-18-2005, 10:28 AM Yeah - I thought about navigation but I know my area of town very well so why pay for something I might use once a year?
I guess this all matters if you want basic transportation or something above that. I wanted leather seats and moonroof but no V6. Only left the EXL.
CA05LXDriver 11-18-2005, 10:39 AM Got my '05 LX sedan for 17,299 5 mos ago, then added some nice wheels. That's bang for the buck.
