so i just ordered my Harman Kardon drive + play and im going to hard wire it..... so heres the question, in the wiring directions there is a 12volt that goes to a constant source, then a wire to ground.... now.... a wire that says it needs to go to the ignition switchs ACC terminal...??? WTF where is that? can anybody give me a color or a general area of this wire? or something that will do the same job? it also says that this ACC doesnt have to be connected so could a take the 12volt constant source wire to the power wire of the radio itself? thanks all the info i can get will be much needed to consider my options

whats up...im hardwiring mine, it came in a couple nights ago. I havnt had the time to put it in yet, but once i do ill tell you the colors and locations of the +12vdc, ACC and ground wire. Just guessing from past experience id say the 12vdc wire is whte/red....the acc wire ill have to take a look at, im thinking white/blue maybe...and the ground wire will most def. be black...ill let ya know once i rip into this thing.

Here you go: (2003 Accord wiring)
12volts white (50A) + ignition harness
Accessory black/red + ignition harness

For the Ground, just look for a bolt going into the metal frame and ground it there.

oh wow thanks man....so the all white wire is the 12V and the blacks to the washer/nut is the ground. Have you already done this?

Nope. I don't have a Drive + play. This is a general wiring scheme for the 7th gen Accords. The ACC wire is the accessories wire and should be used to power the Drive+Play when you turn on the car. Just be absulutely sure it's the right wire you're tapping beforehand by using a multimeter. The ignition harness is near the steering column. You're going to have to take apart the driver's side dash trim to get to it. It's held by one or two screws and about 8 clips.

oh glad you told me that..i was thinking i could get to all of the wires including the ACC underneath the stereo. Do you know anywhere i can see a DYI for taking off the driver's side dash? So far i have taken off the center console and then everying under the radio to expose those wires...from what i understand there will be a 12vdc wire in that harness...but i guess no acc wire...

oh...one additional thing...sorry for all the posts...but the unit is powered by a yellow wire that should be attached to the +12vdc wire...then a red wire that is attached to the ACC wire, then a ground wire....so im hoping that I can connect all three under the stereo without taking off any additional dash trim...any idea if 1)the wires are accesable under the readio and 2) if the colors are the same....thanks for all your help.

Since you have the center console taken apart already, tap into these wires on the radio harness instead.

Radio 12v white/green + radio harness
Radio Ground black - radio harness
Radio Ignition yellow/red + radio harness

The ACC wire from the drive+play would connect to the "Radio Ignition" wire. The easiest way to do this is to use T-Taps. They look like this http://www.partsexpress.com/images/082-100t.jpg. The red ones are perfect for the radio harness wires (I think they're 20 gauge). You need three. One for each wire you need to tap into on the radio harness. Hope this helps. :)
