View Full Version : Day/night mirror
dampfnudel 11-22-2005, 06:42 PM We're thinking about getting the day/night mirror installed on our EX-V6 when it arrives next month. I read on another board (or maybe this board, I forgot) that the day/night mirror is not as secure as the original mirror and can rattle on rough roads. Should we get it ?
stevel 11-22-2005, 06:43 PM on my old ex-l coupe, my day/night mirror DID rattle. :(
dampfnudel 11-22-2005, 06:46 PM Maybe it was installed in the factory, it wouldn't rattle (as standard equipment). I'm sure the day/night mirror in your TL doesn't rattle, stevel ?
BenjiBoy650 11-22-2005, 06:48 PM Why worry about rattling? It'll blend right in, then you'll have an entire orchestra of them in your car. Then you'll have no need for the sound system and that will lead to .1023589MPG better gas mileage.
stevel 11-22-2005, 06:48 PM the rattle didn't seem to be at the attatching point. it seemed to be the mirror itself. but it really wasn't all that bad. and nope. the TL mirror does not rattle yet. :lmao: hopefully it will stay that way.
ericrwalker 11-22-2005, 06:54 PM I had my installed when I bought the car and it shakes, but the mirror is still well worth it.

Maybe our dealer has an Accord with the day/night mirror so we can take a test-drive.
ericrwalker 11-22-2005, 07:00 PM I know when I listen to music with a lot of bass, it vibrates with the bass a lot too.

you sparked my memory, that's what mine did. certain bass frequencies.
ericrwalker 11-22-2005, 07:05 PM Well I think the mirror just likes to dance to certain music

I'll have to take along a couple of the CDs I burned. thanks for the tip.
Anyway, I'm sure you can tilt the regular mirror if you have an idiot behind you, right ?
ericrwalker 11-22-2005, 07:21 PM Exactly you can tilt the mirror, but it's really dark when you do that. The auto mirror is really nice, it's not so dark at night but the headlights don't reflect enough to both you... I think the mirror also just looks good in the car too.
Here is a pic of mine...I wasn't really taking a pic of the mirror...mostly the navi. But you can see the mirror, I should take one from the back seat.
SSMV6 11-22-2005, 10:56 PM I think the auto-dimming mirror is a worthwhile investment. Mine shakes a bit, but it doesn't make any noise.
Mine doesn't rattle. But it looks a bit different than the American one.
