Man Cuts in Line, Is Wrestled to Ground
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Security guards wrestled a man to the ground in a Wal-Mart after he cut in line to get laptop computers that were on sale Friday, a television station reported.
The man started arguing with people inside the store, WFTV-TV in Orlando reported. He then started fighting with the guards, the station reported
One man told WFTV that the laptops were being thrown into the air and people rushed toward them, collapsing on each other. Another man described the scene as crazy.
Orlando police and Orange County sheriff's officials didn't return phone messages seeking comment. The store's manager referred questions to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., where officials at had no immediate comment.
EXLNavi 11-25-2005, 10:49 AM I guess they're going to change the name to "black eyed friday" ? :lmao:
But don't you love the media spin on this incident?
Headline: Man wrestled down and arrested for cutting into line.

KJW73 11-26-2005, 09:11 AM Amazing, isn't it?
Unfortunately (and sometimes fortunately), I live in the shopping district in the city I live in and it's sad...but on a normal, average day...it's crazy. Come "Black-Eyed Friday"...FOE-GITTA 'BOUT IT!!! And the same thing happened here as it happened in Orlando...people fighting at Kohl's, Wal-Mart and Target...my Aunt was actually insane enough to go to Wal-Mart yesterday and she witnessed the frenzy over those laptops...(however, she did get away w/ a portable DVD player for $68 - ). I went to Starbucks around 7pm or so, thinking that most folks are done for the day - it couldn't possibly be crowded.... :lmao: YEAH RIGHT! The stinking line was out the door and every table taken.
IMO - people are freaking CRAZY ( ) to go out for the so-called "one-day-only-bargains". Made that mistake two years ago...woke up at 4am to be at Tar-shay at 5am to get a freaking Motorola house phone that was "supposed to be on sale". I fought with other bitches in line - just getting to the point that I didn't care and if they'd come any closer I was going to run them over with my cart! :lmao: Any way - moral to the story is that freaking phone STAYED on sale until after Christmas...What the heck? :dunno:
stiller fan 11-26-2005, 10:35 AM saw video footage of people being trampled on the news last night...... it disgusts me to no end.......
exactly why i hate regular christmas.... everyone is only out there to get the best gift, meanwhile, you never hear about what the holiday is REALLY about.....
just glad that i still celebrate x-mas on 7 january......
princess 11-26-2005, 03:36 PM I nearly got ran over 4 times in 3 parking lots today!!! They're nuts out there!!!!
One doesn't count....it was Crystle!!! :lmao:
stiller fan 11-26-2005, 03:37 PM better wahtc what you say to her then...... don't want to be a "Christmas casualty".... :lmao:
princess 11-26-2005, 04:00 PM She thought it would be funny to watch me jump when she beeped at me while I was politely waiting for cars to go as I was wlaking back to my car after a trip inot PetsMart for kitten food.
Her & the boys were laughing big time! I jumped pretty good since I was looking the other way at the cars on the other side.
"grandma got ran over by her daughter...." :lmao: :paranoid:

princess 11-26-2005, 04:28 PM I know we're a weird family.........
I've always said I get my insanity from my kids!!!
stiller fan 11-26-2005, 04:30 PM nothing wrong with being "different" in your own way, right??? ;)
RTexasF 11-26-2005, 04:33 PM Inaccuracy of the original story aside...........If I'd been patiently waiting in line and some toad cut in line.......We'd go 'round, regardless of the toad's size. I wouldn't put up with that crap for 1 second.
princess 11-26-2005, 04:42 PM Today I found my red & gold tinsle at WalMart...a lady was in the next line first & decided to try mine. Since she was there before me & didn't have much either I let her go in front of me.
She seemed to be shocked & thanked me a good half dozen times!
I may have made her day. I noticed when out & about how rude people are now... as with every Xmas season. So I wanted to undo some of it! They drive rude, they walk rude, they line up rude..... I'm thankful for having pretty much all my gift buying done!! I love to do random acts of kindness. It gets interesting reactions!
This bunch is way beyond "different"..... :lmao:
stiller fan 11-26-2005, 04:43 PM oh, i have more than my fair share of family stories.....
wanna trade??? :lmao:
princess 11-26-2005, 04:50 PM Nah, I'll keep this bunch..... we just'll keep adding to it.....
stiller fan 11-26-2005, 04:52 PM hmmm, i meant trade stories.....
we should start a new thread for this, huh? ;)
princess 11-26-2005, 04:59 PM Maybe....but family insanity & shoppers insanity can fall under the same umbrella.....
The bruisers in life are related to someone..... maybe one of us! :lmao:
stiller fan 11-26-2005, 05:10 PM nah, family insanity is always much more dramatized...... :lmao:
trust me, this is coming from a person with first-hand experience.....
