View Full Version : Connectors in trunk - what for?
Can anybody tell me what these green connectors are for? I have a 6-cd in dash changer with the 6 speakers. Many thanks in advance.

Maybe Princess can show the pic to her hubby? Makes me curious too?!

Ideas:
Spoiler 3rd brake light
CD changer
:dunno:
Rear spoiler for 06's doesn't have any lights. Maybe a CD-Changer but the additional accessory changer Honda provides is actually in-dash (in the pocket area) as well as the MP3/WMA player. I couldn't find any option in the manual or at the dealer that would use connectors in the trunk.

The 8-disc in trunk CD changer. Thats my guess.

Those are for the Navi system. The DVD player goes in the trunk.

Good Observation!
Didn't think they would put the full harness to the navi when they don't even provide it as an option in this region. Thanks everyone :)

Doesn't look like navi, I think navi has more wires.
Probably not CD changer either. YOu get the harness with the changer. It doesn't come with the car. At least that's the way they did it from 03-05.

I'll look in my trunk to see if I have that wiring. Is it XM? Or is that not an option there?

Well I couldn't take it anymore...so I just looked into my accord trunk since I have the navi. Looks like it's for the navi...here are 2 pics.

Good Job! So we know it's navi! Weird that they's put the cables in cars without navi. Cups was your car like a mistake at the factory? Maybe it was wired for navi, but it went to the non-navi part of the plant? Who knows...
Although this may mean that navi is easily upgradable...

Apparently Honda was smart with this one, they used all the same wiring harness for every car regardless of whether it had navi or not probably. On the Odyssey, they used many different harnesses....

yeah it seems like a good idea....mass produce the same part for all the cars....and I guess it would make it easier to add navi if someone would actually think it's worth it to do later....I wish my CD player would play MP3 CD's ...I saw that there was an upgrade...but can you do it to Navi accord? I don't know where you would put it.

maybe thats new for 06's...or dependant on country of origin/destination.
if mine was pre-wired for Navi, i would have bought the Navi components and installed them so long ago, but alas the Navi wiring is nonexistent. :(

The MP3 goes in the CD holder. And yes the Navi Accord does have a plug for it on the back.

hmmm well I kind of like my cd holder....probably won't worry about the mp3 player then. I will just use my regular CD's

Betcha that you could fit more CD's onto one MP3 CD than you could fit in that bin :P

yeah I know I could...but I put a lot of other junk in that...and close it....my little clubby that closes so it doesn't matter if it's messy....well if I put the mp3 player in there...does the door still close over it? And does the name of the song show on the navi screen?

you lose the door if you get the Honda MP3 CD player installed. not sure if it will show on the Navi screen.
From the navi pics it seems that it has more wires/connectors. I only have those green two. Navi is not an option and even if I get the parts myself and manage to install it no map cd is available for this region! XM is only available on US hondas.
Why install Honda's CD-MP3 player when it's cheaper to buy a 30GB ipod and hook it with an aux-in adapter?

yeah and I have a Sony MP3 player that holds about 13,000 songs....I like everything intergrated without wires connecting. I like the idea of the in dash mp3 player....but it's not worth losing my silver door under the navi :naughty:
While installing the PIE adapter today I also noticed a small free yellow port behind the pocket (there are 3 ports, 2 of them are bigger and connected) I remember seeing pictures of those yellow connectors somewhere before... but where... hmmm
