Hey everyone, I'm new here and wanted to say hi. I have an 03 Accord and love it! I thought it would be nice to talk with other Accord owners sometimes!

Well there will be plenty of talking with other accord owners here because most people are addicted to their accords and this website. :notworthy

Welcome! I think you'll love it here. I guess we're kind of a Family of Accords. What is your exact trim of Accord? I have an 06' EX V6 6-Spd Sedan. Hope you've enjoyed your Accord for most part, I'm on accord #6 and II love them! Although all things created by human have error. You might want to add info about your car into your signature. This helps people know what model/trim you have if you ever have a problem.
Happy Posting!

Wow accord4life, you have 5,000 miles on your accord already? I had mine for 9 days and I put about 1,300 on mine. I'm addicted to driving it already...When did you take delivery?

Got it 2-3 weeks ago. But it was a loaner for 4 weeks. Well i ahd it as a laoner for 2weeks and the owner (best friend) of the dealership drove it home and back to the dealership. You know that 6-spd is addicting. it's just TOO pricise if you ask me. Makes me spend my lunch hour driving? :lmao:

I considered the manual coupe but I hate shifting in NYC....other than that it's not a big deal. got the same color as you, but it's a pain in the butt to keep clean.

I hate the Accord 6MT shifter. Prefer mine...don't know why. Clutch was so fickle too. Really ruined it for me. Accord4Life, dunno if u were around to read my review of it, I grouped it under my thread from "Civic Live!" or something like that

Hey thanks for the warm welcome from everyone! As you can now see in my signature I have an 03 Accord Coupe EX 5-spd. I couldn't be happier! SO much fun to drive, obviously since i put 30,000 miles on it in a year an a half. We hit 60,000 yesterday! I wish I would have gone for the V6, but money didn't allow at the time, at least I got the manual. I did however just get my windows tinted for a sleeker more sporty apperance. I must say the 7th gen. coupes look hot with dark windows.

I think you have found the 4 cylinder suits you just as well. For me, the 6 cyl is just heavy on power and weak on everything else...gotta have a balance and the 4 cyl nails it! Glad that you're happy with your car :)

i have to pretty much agree with ben here.i wouldn't say i hate the 6mt shifter, but something about it felt really odd to me. i expected it to be much more like the tl and tsx shifting feel wise~maybe slightly stupid of me, but oh well. :dunno:

Mine hasn't been that hard to clean. I usually just take it to the car wash. No way I could clean it in my driveway, I don't have nearly enough time to do it!

Hmm. well I haven't really driven any new sticks besides my 03' Accord (May it rest in peace), but whilie it's not as priscise as the 03's shifter, it does the job for me. I have the leather shift knob and what not too. I mean could it be that the shifter gets better as it 'breaks in'? I didn't even drive the car until it had 2.5-3k on it already? I javen't test driven a manual TSX or TL. So maybe I shouldn't, because it might ruin my Accord experience!:( Although, I have been noticing some gear griding even with the clutch at the floor. Hope it's not major. I am having the clutch pedal adjusted next Tuesday. I decided to drive the other Accords until that ones fixed, I wouldn't want to make the problem worse.

where are you located? I am in upstate NY this time of year the roads are so dirty, from snow and dirt and salt. I cleaned it this morning and I am already sad that it's dirty again. Hopefully the weather will be ok for me to try my Zaino before the winter really kicks in. :dunno:

IIRC Your clutch is hydraulic, it won't adjust if you whacked it with a hammer. Also if your grinding is in 2nd and 3rd...that's a Honda thing...

Austin, Texas. Not much 'heavy-duty' weather down here. Mostly rain, wind, sun, and dust. Right now it's like 41 degrees I think. Just cold and windy. Not much fun at all...

Wait just thought about the clutch thing. If thats so why would my Honda Dealer have agreed to adjust it? Under warrantee that is. So it's not like they'd be making any money??? Interesting...

I don't know exactly what they could adjust...unless they changed the clutch system drastically for 06 (doubt it), I don't see anything to adjust except maybe the fluid level.

well I just got back from Iraq 2 weeks ago...so I know about wind, sun and dust...and it's raining crazy here in NY right now.... Dry weather is good for keeping a car clean.

Oh I'm used to the soap opera stuff... I'm on another forum and it gets pretty bad sometimes, but it's still great!

The six speeds are very particular about how the shift linkage is adjusted. Also there is a small amount of adjustment on the clutch pedal itself. Which dealer? First Texas Honda is pretty sharp on taking care of items like that.

Synthetic transaxle oil will make it silky smooth with no resistance even when its cold. I went with Red Line. If interested E-mail them and ask which would be correct for your car. The dealer in Round Rock (can't think of the name) changed mine out for $28, I supplied the lube.
