This is my third EX-Coupe MT('93, '99, '03), and of all my 2003 has had the most issues, BUT it's also the best performing and best handling.

My local dealer hates me, since March when I got it I've had to go back for the following.

1. wrinkled exterior window trim molding - Still waiting for part

2. rattling from driver's side rear-passsenger quarter panel -

3. sunroof leaking and very noisy when shade is retracted. -
Dealer Sealed Sunroof and is replacing A-Frame Interior Cloth Panel since it was stained.

4. seat shifts when braking and accelerating - broken seat rail on order.

5. gear box (shifter is very nosiy) - unresolved

6. Shifter Discoloration - Replaced by dealer.

7. trouble starting car - engines turns over too many times before igniting.

8. steering wheel vibration when braking at high speeds (due to warped rotors - need to resurfaced every 5K miles.

9. Glove Box not closing properly.

10. car pulling to the right , there actually a TD on this one.

Wow! Sounds like you've had ALL the stuff a few have had in one car! Most are resolvable & that's good!:)

Wow, that really sucks! Have you complained up the chain, ie demanded answers from honda HQ etc... I would go beyond the dealer and take it up with head office and beyond!

When was your car built?

:sorry:

I'll talk with Tim over at Hondacuraworld and see if he can give any insight on how to go up the chain to get some help.

Thanks Princess and Ward, I have kept all the service paperwork.
I have gone up the ladder at the dealership, as a matter of fact this dealer has followup calls they make a couple of days after service. It was there that i made a big stink.

I also, most recently contacted American Honda - Customer Service specifically about the rotors warping twice in under 15K and they said that there was no TD or recalls on the issue and that was just simply wear & tear.

Honda Care which I purchased an extended warranty from does not get involved with brake issues because they are part of the wear & tear list.

About the brakes, the dealer seems to think it's my driving habit.
Well, after being a licensed driver for more than 15 years, and this being my third Accord and never having had this problem in the past, I'd say thier just taking the easy way out. Odd enough this car is used mostly (about 85%) for highway driving where little braking takes place. As a matter of fact on the last service order it states that my Original Factory Pads still have 95% life remaining.

Warping rotors in such a short time is weird. There is another thread about it. One way to warp a rotor is to not torque the wheels down properly. A sticking caliper can also cause a problem, but that usually just on one side. Hopefully, after enough complaints, Honda will figure this one out.

Now that I have passed the 2K mark, the prince will pull the wheels off & do an inspection before our next road trip. I will have about 6 weeks on my new rims & if there's a balancing or other problem there may be signs.

I looked for anything new on brakes & the other things listed in the beginning of this thread. No changes yet!

well i've heard a lot of people with the warped rotor problem... it might depend on how you break in the brakes... who knows but nevertheless you should NOT have this problem... dealer needs to do something very quick. on the other board i go to, v6p.net, someone from there called Honda America, and they said they are well aware of the problem and are working to get a recall out... whenever that may be

#7 is probably something to do with the anti-theft mechanism. Your ignition is not being allowed on soon enough, or for some reason is being delayed by the body computer. They can test that.

SFL,

Something I found in a tech paper....

"Glove Box Light Leakage in ’03 Accords
The glove box light in ’03 Accords comes on any
time the parking lights or headlights are on. If
your customer is bothered by light leaking from
the glove box, just apply a 10 x 5 x 400 mm strip
of EPT foam to the dashboard where the glove
box lid meets the dashboard. Try to position the
foam so it’s not too noticeable when you close the
lid."

You know what... i noticed this strip of foam along my glovebox...i thought it was there to correct some sort of vibration.. my car came with it from the factory, so i guess they are applying fixes during the build when various issues are coming up. good thing

thanks princess again..

Yep...That's exactly what the dealer did. They adjusted the latch for the glovebox and applied a strip.
Thanks again Princess.
