Auto V6 all the way.

South FL traffic and stick-shifts do not mix! Makes for a very tired left foot.

I went with auto to make the car useable by everybody. If I didn't want them to drive it, I'd picked a manual ;) The way my knees pop and crackle every morning also points to an auto though.

Have to go with AUTO. Otherwise........ no one else could drive it.

Manual. My dad can still drive it but not my mom. She was scared after she put my car into 3rd instead of first.... Anyway...I live in SF traffic isn't that great but I wouldn't have an auto. You get stuck in traffic and you curse....and then you hit a nice road on a sunny cool day, sunroof open and music pumpin and you shift gears and there's nothing in the world that's better.

Got an auto for now. Probably doing a manual swap with H22. :)

Standard, and I am gald I did because I think it is partly the reason I am getting 40mpg. Also I am control freak, so standard tranny appeals to me much more. :)

I'm only getting 22MPG all city + AC in my F23A1 sedan.

auto.... I'm old.

Just my preference. I can drive a manual, just rather not. They are funner in the mountains & feel peppier. Most of my driving is in town & it's one less thing to think about.:)

 come on all, i realy dont understand you, dont you have an driving education???first of all in my country u cant learn how to drive on automatic gear shift, u have to learn on manual one, and thats why eweryone CAN easily drive with normal transmition.so i simpl can not belewe that i found these answers here, that someone can not drive car becouse it dont have an automatic transmition, lol u realy make me smile:p .so i rather pick wheickle with normal(manual) transmition, becouse i like to control power on my wheels.my father own an old mercedes-benc mod.123 from 1982 with automatic transmition, and i hardly learn how to drive it, especialy during winter(snow, ice, etc) but as someone said: tastes are different:blush:

A lot of our cars are automatic. In fact, if I go to the dealer right now, I would probably not be able to see a manual Honda Accord on the lot. USA = lazy = automatic. I don't like the trend...it's just like people drooling over auto climate control. As if they can't twist a few knobs and push a few buttons every once in a while to stay comfortable? Split climate control I can understand....but I prefer to have manual as well :)

Auto --- So the Mrs. can drive... But I enjoy the lazy factor too...
If it had rear wheel drive and 500hp --- manual all the way....
But I wouldn't drive it everyday....

I'm backwards. Accord doesn't have enough power so I need a manual. Also better fuel economy as a plus. If it had 500HP I could care less, let it shift for itself I won't need more than 3000RPM and that's my preferred shift point anyway haha. I just don't like automatics on cars that don't have much power because I end up making the thing downshift when I don't want it to, calling up too many revs and a whole range of issues.

It's an age thing Benji......
My V6 has enough power and I'm getting 22-25mpg
I have driven alot of cars and trucks in my time......
NO Auto in Cobra 427/289 67 Boss 66Vette Porsche / Austin Healeys/
I love the involvement when driving car's like that on a road course..... You don't want auto out there......
It's just that warm fuzzy feeling of everything coming together and not just pushing the throttle to the floor......ahhhhhhhh..

I could live with a V6 auto but the I4 auto is gutless, it's something like a 10-11 second 0-60 time. Also I hate how people drive these days. They follow me so close off the light that when I shift they nearly run into me. Doesn't really help that I make full complete stops :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:

I was talking about driving a 500HP auto out on the road. On a road course I'd take a manual in an instant no matter what the HP.

i went with the automatic this time. my last ride was a Subaru WRX with a 5-speed. been doing a lot of city driving and the manual was getting tiresome. i'm sure i'll be missing it when i get to an open section of twisties

Wish I had chosen the stick, but the wife had to drive it also. For the longhaul, this 6th Gen auto can be problematic, as I found out recently.:bawling:

woohoo a poll that was revived from the "dead" that i hadn't voted in yet!

well i have a manual, guess i'm not lazy! :D and i even bought it without knowing how to drive it, so it would've been much easier to get an autmatic and sit back and drive! ;) but nah, i got it into my head that i wanted a stick this time around!:D

About bringing this thread back from the dead...... :D

I picked auto only because V6 sedans only came in that flavor. :thumbsdow

If it had a manual version in sedan form, I'd be all over that.

Funny. I didn't know how to drive a manual until I got my old car either! I've only driven a manual twice. Both times on the test drive and I was so rough on the shifts. It's a good thing Honda clutches are so forgiving! I'm proud to say I've never done a burnout in my old car, but stalls, that's a different story. I think I stalled about 25 times after the first week. Overconfidence, I suppose. :lmao:

hmmm, auto I4 was the only accord in my color on the lot (they get their cars in good condition from auto auctions, then replace what needs to be replaced and re-sell them).....i think that there was a couple integras available, along with a couple newer 5th gen accords, but my mom can't drive a stick (she does take to work on occasion).

I wanted the Navi and all they had was the auto tranny...... Asked about stick and navi, but they said they would have to order it and I would have to pay sticker. :( at least I got the auto @ invoice though

:bawl:

i woulda begged and begged and begged. i had to search for my car and darn near had to order it in the end but i still got it below invoice...... i just held out until one was "found" (being built, due into the dealer in a few weeks). ;) (i wanted cloth, ex trim, with manual tranny in black -although i was willing to take graphite.)

I totally went for the V-6 auto. With all the stop and go traffic around here and having tp drive downtown I would go nuts  The manual was tempting for various reasons but I also did not want a coupe. Maybe someday I can afford a second and third mode of transportation (nice fast coupe and a bike)!! :notworthy

Hi BenjiBoy650:

___I have seen reviews of the 7th gen Accord I4’s w/ manuals hit 60 mph in under 8.0 seconds. The Auto can do the dance in ~ 9.0.

___Good Luck
