View Full Version : Why THAT user name????

"Princess" is because I'm a Disney fan. I'm called that at home too. I've termed housework as "cinderella duty" for years. Although my favorite character is Tinkerbell..... she's like what I'm told I am.... spoiled, sassy..... in a good way, I'm sure!;)
So why are you who you are????/

I chose mine because I wanted to work "accord" into it somehow.
And because so much of what you read on the inet is personal opinion and not hard facts, I wanted others to know that mine is only one opinion of thousands of others.

Good point. I know I have deleted even more than I've written.... because I'll remember it's all just opinion!
When I read some of the user names, I sometimes wish that I'd used more imagination!
I like yours. I'm actually not very "board" experienced. This is the first one that has really interested me. The Disney one I tried treated the ones that don't know all the trivial Disney stuff like we had no right to be there. I pop in on the Pilot board sometimes. :)

weathers great. haha .
Princess, Your probably more like Jefferson Airplane, Doobie Bro's?
Parrot Heads are not quite like Dead Heads but similar following, sort of....
It's kinda cool when Buffet comes to Cincy, He always does at least a couple shows and gets good media coverage.....
I don't do concerts anymore except symphony or small club venue.
It's more fun to sit in my recliner and watch on wide screen in surround sound and if I get beer spilled on me it's my own fault!

It warmed up, finally! We're sitting in the low 50's now. That's all we're gettin' today. There's one of those artic blasts coming in from the north. Areas around us have been in the 20's at night. We've had BOTH fireplaces going at night until we hit the bed.
I've got an interest in most kinds of music. I've always been that way, never quite fit into any catagory. I liked what I heard on the "radio" site at the Margaritaville place. In fact I own some of it! Probably the only stuff I really don't like is the 'Dead. I could even find one of their songs to enjoy though.
I REALLY like Aerosmith!:D When I was a munchkin my brother was a teen during the Elvis & Rightous Brothers age. He also liked the Beach Boys. Now he's a country fan. I grew up in the Monkees phase, so you can understand the need to look for something else to listen to!! It just has always depended on the mood.....
I've never been to a concert! We have some places very close that have had the BIG names, I've just never been interested in going. Like you, I prefer to either just hear them or watch in the comforts of my own home.
Summertime at 105 degrees, with a strawberry daquiri, floating in the pool with music streaming in the air....
Ok, it's only the begining of the chilly weather & I'm already dreaming of Summer! I still have a couple of months to get through before I can thaw out!!:bawling:

My engine's cooling system is too efficient :) In the morning, I get the car warmed up right before this one long hill where I can put it into neutral and cruise all the way down . As you know, in CA it's been cold recently so I've had the heat full blast. Going down this hill at 35MPH, I can get the engine to go from fully warm to back to the C mark. Cool eh? haha

I wanted a name that reflected that car, but I didn't want one that was too specific, so that I could keep the name once the Cobra was gone. My wife thought about it and came up with "Coil99" - "coil" for what cobras do and "99" for the year. I've used the name ever since. :)

mine's my confirmation name from back in 8th grade when i used to go to church... we had to pick a saint's name and of course i had ot search and search for one i liked and who wasn't popular with everyone else! (for non-catholics, the confirmationt hing probably makes no sense! it's basically a second middle name. :D )
but it's nice because i can usually use this name without adding numbers or anything! back in college i used "aqua" for awhile because i love blue/green colors, but that became a hard name to get when i signed up for new things on the net!
even anysia has been taken on some sites, so i now use "anysiaccord"! :jumping:

when i was 24 (6 years ago) i came up with a email address at yahoo. instead of using my name i thought of my favorite looney toon, Yosemite Sam. My favorite Yosemite Sam cartoon is when he chases BB up the high dive and gets tricked in to jumping off many times. at the begining of the cartoon, he comes in hootin and a hollarin that he wants to see Fearlessfreap. to this day I am still not sure if he said that.

Mine was, ah, the lack of original thinking, combined with the first thing that popped into my head.
I used to use 'Max Power' on another board, because of the classic (to me) Simpsons episode where Homer had his name changed to that.
Homer: There are three ways to do things: the right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power way!
Bart: Isn't that just the wrong way?
Homer: Yeah, but faster!

Interesting little thread here...
Mine came from a cat I had for years. Bowzer was anointed as such because I found him in the woods at about 4 weeks old just yelling and yelling. I picked him up and he was all big mouth and claws...partially wild...on his last day from the looks of him. Sadly we lost him this year at about 12 years of age...so now the name means even more. I've used his name for sigs for about that long now.

reframmellator
05-30-2008, 10:04 AM
"Reframmellate" is my favorite term for BS that is completely made-up, yet sounds convincingly technical and official. Comes from the old F Troop television series, which probably means absolutely nothing to many of you in this forum. Another indication of how our educational system is neglecting to teach essential and highly evolved American culture. Those of you who DO remember F Troop will no doubt agree with this assessment.
So, to set the stage, F Troop is a comedy set around a bumbling US Army captain assigned to Fort Courage after old Civil War; his scamming, conniving noncoms; his inept troops (an extremely nearsighted scout, for example, and a bugler with impossibly thick lips), and the equally scamming and conniving Hakowi Indians (as Precolonial oppressed indigenous peoples were called in those days; and as in "We're the Hakowi") Hilarity ensues. In one scene that stuck with me because I was at an impressionable age, the noncoms are trying to get some money out of the captain for one of their schemes by telling him the cannon on site are badly in need of repair:
"And we're going to have to reframmellate the barrels," the noncoms tell the captain in a sincere, serious tone.
"Uh huh, uh huh," the captain replies, looking totally confused but trying to act knowledgeable about the whole thing.
It's not unlike someone who can't put gas in his car going to an unscrupulous repair place and getting ripped off: "You really should reline your heater ducts. It's not cheap, but if you don't do it now. . . "
"Uh huh, uh huh. . . ."

Calamity Coyote:
Several years ago when I was in the car audio business, everyone was using nicknames based on Looney Toons characters. The most famous one being used of course was Taz. Our group decided to base ours on the Tiny Toons characters. I've always been the creative one building all the crazy boxes and coming up with ideas that most would not have thought of. Since the Coyote was the one that always used the gadgets in creative ways to try and catch the Road Runner, it only seemed obvious that he would represent me the best. The name has stuck with ever since.
