This week my 94 Accord EX M/T developed an electrical problem.

After I shut down the engine, the radiator fan continues to run for 5 to 10 minutes. I thought this could be a cooling issue since I had to replace my upper radiator hose right after Christmas and I thought I could have an air bubble in the cooling system. Upon further testing, I discovered that I can start the car for 5 seconds after sitting all night, shut it down while it is still cold and I still get 5-10 minutes of the fan running. Sounds like a bad relay or sensor.

Has anyone else had this problem?

COULD be a bad relay....but also could be a voltage issue...if it goes too low it messes up the fan's timer. Or a thermal sensor in the block thinking it's warmer than it really is.

The problem turned out to be a temperature sensor in the thermostat housing.
Very cheap and quick fix - $19.00 part and less than 15 minutes to install.

Believe it or not, sometimes the problem is the alternator.

I have seen the alternator remain "energized" after the engine is shut off, which means that the electrical system is still "on."

Try disconnecting the alternator feed wires immediately after shutting down.
