I am looking to buy either a LX V6 or EX V6 depending on the price I can get them at. I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area and was hoping some members from the area can chime in on their experiences. I have placed several price request with dealers around the area and awaiting their responses. I have gotten a quote for a 2004 LX V6 for $21,500 + tax, tag, and destination fee. I think I can still do better than this so will wait for some responses here.

I am currently shopping for a sedan EX V6 no nav and my lowest offer so far is 23,688 plus TTL. This price is about $550 under invoice or about 200 over cost. I have no trade in and I made sure this included the 490 dest charge. Also made sure I can have a choice of any ex v6 on the lot. (this eliminates demo's etc.)
In addition, I received several other offers at under invoice pricing and several offers from people saying they will match any price. From what I have seen, you should be able to do the same.
I simply went to the honda website, looked up about a dozen dealers within a 90 min drive and emailed them all on what I wanted. My emails stipulated that I expected to pay invoice or less. About a dozen offers within one day. I still plan on going to my local dealer to see if they will match.
Hey good luck.

After shopping for several weeks, finally got "a offer that I couldn't refuse". 04' ex v6 no nav seven miles on odometer, including dest. $23,243! PLus TTL thats it. No trade, no forced options, only a soft sell on every type of insurance you can imagine. I did not buy anything besides the car.
For the record that is $1000 under invoice. The dealership said they were willing to take a small loss ($250) on this car to move some inventory. When I talked to the sales guy they had about 25 ex v6's no nav, and 5 in my first color choice, 4 in my second color choice.
I will post a picture after we get it on saturday.

If you can find an '03 it'd be even cheaper. So these cars are actually moving under invoice, nice to hear. Note that dealers get invoice on options too, but I don't think you have to worry about that. What is a dealer fee? Sounds like they're just trying to make up for the difference....

Actually I wrote it wrong, it is a destination fee and not dealer fee. I'm guessing all dealers try to charge this, but I am trying to get them to dump that fee. I still think that a destination fee is a way for dealers to make up some money. Hmmm....let's see, if there was no destination then the vehicle would not be there, in turn the dealer would not be there and last but not least, hey....I wouldn't be there. So why are they charging destination fees? Like Benji and I said, to make up for them giving you a lower price on the vehicle. I am still looking for more input, especially from Florida members.

I think the destination charge is somewhat reasonable but I think they could work it into the price like some manufacturers already do. Especially if you're talking about shipping a car that's made in Japan (though most Accords are made in the USA) over to America for only like $500, that's reasonable. However it pisses me off that a car made in Fremont, CA (NUMMI, Toyota/Pontiac cars) are tacked with a $500-600 destination charge when they're sold in San Jose just 10 miles down the road.
