It's finally gotten cold enough for my tranny to linger in 1st gear longer than normal and shift hard into 2nd. I've heard of this by many from the Northern climes, but had never experienced it myself.

We've been in the high 20's overnight and upon the first start in the morning, this has happened for the first two shifts. By then, it has warmed up sufficiently to go back to it's exemplary behavior. I guess/hope this is perfectly normal at these temps.

According2me,

This is the additive that I used in my 96 to go 180k+ on Oe fluid

Just a thought.

Why not just change the fluid w/ Honda ATF when the manual says to? I am VERY leary of adding additives to my transmission fluid. You mean LubeGuard knows the Honda automatic transmission better than Honda? I doubt it. Honda knows what it takes for a good transmission fluid. Just try to put Mercon ATF in a Honda - it won't work. They are made for different transmissions w/ different friction modifiers. I don't buy many OEM parts but my ATF is one of them.

Your situation is normal & the transmission will be fine.

Wow have I learned a lot in the past year. :sorry: What a stupid post I had, with a bad demeanor.

How is the 2nd tranny doing?

I1,
Must apologize to you. Typing before thinking is not good. Lubeguard does appear to be a good product. My apologies.
