I need to replace my front brakes soon. The dealer quoted me $190 to do it.
I wanted to know if I do the brake change myself using honda brake pads would it void my warranty?

Not as long as you don't damage anything while doing the pad change.

Alright then I just don't want to fork over the 190 when I am perfectly capable of doing it myself. I just didn't want to void the warranty that i paid for. As long as they don't know about it though i'm good right?

With any modification, you are fine as long as it is not attributed to the warranty issue. For example, if you put on aftermarket pads and you get an engine leak, they are not related and you are covered by the warranty (by law). However if you claim your brakes are defective, it probably would not be covered.

I got Aftermarket pads on all 4 brakes, no problem with warranty.

$190 is good. My dealer wants $220 for it. Just do it yourself, save yourself some money, and there shouldn't be any issue with the warranty if done right.

I just pulled out and checked the front and rear pads on our '09 LX.

You'll need a 12mm socket, a "C" Clamp, floor jack, jack stands and maybe some fluid if you want to bleed the lines.

The Wearever brand ceramic pads from Advance Auto are good and only cost about $40.

You can definitely do it yourself for a lot cheaper.
