Who would of thought it possible 3 months ago? The LSU Tigers are playing in the BCS Championship game against Oklahoma. The only complaint I have is that the opponent should have been the USC Trojans.

In my mind, the Sooners forfeited their claim by not even winning their conference and being embarassed by Kansas State.

They may still prove to be the better team in the Sugar Bowl, but they should have lost the opportunity in my mind. Hopefully this kills the BCS rating system as it currently stands.

So to those of you interested in college football. Which is the true championship game. Both human polls have them ranked 1)USC 2)LSU 3)Oklahoma 4)Michigan. The BCS ranks them 1)Oklahoma 2)LSU 3)USC 4)Michigan.

That means the Sugar has 1&2 or 2&3 and the Rose has 1&4 or 3&4.

Geaux Tigers !!!!

I'm sure your buttons are poppin' withpride!

Last year we make the mistake of spending New Year's Day at Disneyland. Now I know what all the Rose Bowl people do on the Eve!! I've never seen the parks so crowded!! To walk down Main Street you had to take tiny little steps that weren't even as long as your own foot! It was literally elbow to elbow all the way through the park!!

Yes Princess, it's been 40 years since LSU has had a chance at the title. My younger son, Erik, is a sophomore there, so he's had the chance to experience the magic of Death Valley up close and personal.

The whole state is buzzing, except the business community in New Orleans. Being that the home team will be playing in the Sugar Bowl, they expect to have some shorter duration room reservations and fewer people from out of town than would be the case if two out of town teams had been invited.

How's the left coast responding to the BCS :censored: . Is the venom being directed at Oklahoma, LSU or the BCS?

Know what you mean about the crowds, that's how it is on Bourbon St on Mardi Gras day.

Funny you mention Mardi Gras, that's exactly what the theme was too! Normally DLand is a very "sober" place & all the gaudy hats, crowns & drinking was quite a shock to me.

Our headlines here have been the new governor, the new SF mayor & DA, the flu & Oklahoma. Maybe that means they're leaning more towards them. I honestly don't know. I have a tendency to crash early when it's cold & I've been missing most of the nightly news. Tonight I'll be wired with leaving for DLand in the morning, so I'm sure to see it. I'll try & pay attentions as to which way they seem to pointing the "venom" here. (I'm not pointing any toward any school.)

Today they did mention the"little" quake in VA. Those things are actually more dangerous elsewhere, we have all kinds of "earthquake proofing" done here. They're more FUN than scary. The one in '89 made our floor look more like ocean waves for about 30 seconds. It swished about 6" of water out of our 55 gal. aquarium. When it was over we had no phones or electricity for a couple of hours, but no real damage. We're about 35 miles from SF & not built on sand.

I'm sorry that I'm so out of touch with the games now. When our Eric was home I paid much more attention. He's into all kinds of sports & I had to keep up to have conversations with him! I've been neglecting it since. I am happy that your Erik's school has done so well.

LSU 21 Oklahoma 14

We won ugly with our defense, inspite of our quarterback. Now if only there were one more game.

LSU is the BCS and coaches champion, but USC is definitely not an also ran.

What a year!!!!!!!!!

I saw that on the news! They said something about the public thinks there should be one more game. I guess this isn't the first time there's been 2 champion teams & a final game between the two to determine a single champ is what they want in these cases. Think it will ever happen??

Not this year. I believe someone already has offered millions of dollars to try to get these two teams together but the NCAA won't allow it.

Thats too bad, it would be a great match-up.
