stevel 03-17-2006, 07:07 AM soooo............. for some reason people complained to wardsweb and who knows who else about me being a mod. dunno who or why..... so.... wards sent me a pm entitled "moderator status removal". no biggie, although I'm not sure how he came to the decision since I didn't "moderate" anything, let alone used the power inappropriately....... I'm not sure how he did un-mod me.... he took away my privilages to the "private mod forum", and reduced my pm allowance. but...... my name is still out there as a mod and I still don't have a time limit between pm messaging???? today I realized that I still have to power to open and close threads, edit posts, sticky stuff, get emails about reported posts, etc..... so I don't know what wardsweb's intentions were????? he had to selectively remove my privilages, why were they all not removed????? why was noone told????? I'm very confused now that I know that I still actually can "moderate".... does this confuse anyone else? why would he selectively unmod someones partial privileges????
princess 03-17-2006, 07:12 AM Possibly in hopes of you showing him that you WANT to be a mod.... :dunno:
stevel 03-17-2006, 07:13 AM he said I was removed as a mod, he didn't say he was just modifying the privileges a little bit..............
princess 03-17-2006, 07:15 AM Ask him....there's no way for anyone else to know.... anything someone else says would be just speculation.... :dunno:
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:16 AM Possibly in hopes of you showing him that you WANT to be a mod.... :dunno:
:lmao: we all know that won't happen. only mods who will conform to ben will remain.
it's a selective breeding process if you will.
geez, for the day or week, why not open up all those hidden threads to the public? just for viewing, not for posting in.
let everyone see what really happens.
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:17 AM Ask him....there's no way for anyone else to know.... anything someone else says would be just speculation.... :dunno:
and i'd believe that if well, if we could all see the conversations behind the scenes.
but i have a grand old feeling that it's not "just speculation" on behalf of the mods.
stevel 03-17-2006, 07:17 AM kinda hoping he responds in this thread so the forum actually know who the mods are and who isn't. and if one, myself is removed, they deserve to know why. there was a congrats thread, but nothing to notify the board of the backwords change....
stevel 03-17-2006, 07:21 AM and i'd believe that if well, if we could all see the conversations behind the scenes.

yeah, I'm sure there is something in there about it......
EXLNavi 03-17-2006, 07:24 AM Ask him....there's no way for anyone else to know.... anything someone else says would be just speculation.... :dunno:
A PM is of no use if it goes unanswered.
stevel 03-17-2006, 07:25 AM A PM is of no use if it goes unanswered.
especially when there is no reason for it to not be public knowledge.
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:26 AM kinda hoping he responds in this thread so the forum actually know who the mods are and who isn't. and if one, myself is removed, they deserve to know why. there was a congrats thread, but nothing to notify the board of the backwords change....
exactly.
why???
because they would recieve other complaints arguing the decision?
best kept behind clsoed doors like everything else?
:dunno:
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:27 AM especially when there is no reason for it to not be public knowledge.
and this is why some of us more outspoken ones have started to just publicly say whatever the problem is instead of just reporting it.
plus how exactly DO you get action on reporting a post that was posted by a moderator????
we all KNOW nothing will be done on those ones!
stevel 03-17-2006, 07:28 AM plus how exactly DO you get action on reporting a post that was posted by a moderator????
be careful, I asked that question once and it made the thread get locked, then deleted.
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:29 AM ps~EXL are you keeping this recorded as it goes on? so that when it's inevitably locked/deleted we can repost it???
stevel 03-17-2006, 07:30 AM I was just thinking about how to save it also......
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:30 AM be careful, I asked that question once and it made the thread get locked, then deleted.
yep, because if there is one lesson to be learned it is
DO NO AT ANY COSTS QUESTION THE VALIDITY OR NECCESSITY OF A MODERATORS POSTS OR ACTIONS.
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:46 AM look ma, i can move posts without modding priveleges!! (ps~ i'm willing to bet i could easily do the same with locked/deleted threads and some behind the scenes trickery as well.)
anyway, i think this post will be even more effective over here:
princess......... she's right. I was supposedly removed from being a mod and I DIDN'T even do anything wrong!!!!!!!!!! ben can be offensive and lock threads because he has no real defense for himself and he's a "golden child", right?????
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:50 AM and in relationship to the problem things with ben~EXCERPTS OF PM'S TO FOLLOW. i have left off names of posters to spare them. if they wish to come forward and "claim" any comment, go for it.
pm in regards to the "pm question" thread i posted that was subsequently locked and deleted when mods got out of hand:
This has not been the only incident where I've seen him be very opinoinated and argumentative.
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:52 AM next:
But I do want you to know that I don't think much of the way BenjiBoy650 handled it and his replies and actions would remove him as a mod if I was in charge of the board.
princess 03-17-2006, 07:54 AM I have requested to be removed as a mod.
That way I may still share car info, so I won't have to leave.
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:54 AM next:
i know, he has been a bit on a bit of a power trip as of late... there are other forum members who have stated to me that they wanted to "wean themselves off of DA, then eventually leave, after being attacked by ben...
anysia 03-17-2006, 07:57 AM somewhat threatening pm sent by mod to me:
If you dont like to here the truth then stop stirring the pot. If you don't like the way DA is run then leave.
Everyone was happy until you came back with an attitude.
If you want me to post a poll for everyone to voice their opinion about your attitude anon then that can happen to and you may not like the outcome(truth)
yet same option not welcomed in regards to moderators and having members vote on their opinions of them. :dunno: (and i should note, EVERY pm i've recieved was from people agreeing with me and begging me to stick around despite ben and his actions as of late.... somehow one mod would like me to believe that there are plenty of equally negative pm's being sent.)
anysia 03-17-2006, 08:01 AM and another in the string of "problem with ben" pm's:
I think ben is on a power trip too. I really think he shouldn't be a moderator, but I1 backs him heavily. In light of that I don't think that there's much we can do.
But if there's something that I can do, then I will.
anysia 03-17-2006, 08:23 AM (ps~all of the above are from different users.)
B K R 03-17-2006, 11:51 AM Guys n Gals calms down....
....You senior members need to take it easy ... I believe being around for so long would have made it easy to understand that we need to take everything with a pinch of salt.
Then again I am not here to take anyone's side or preach...but it would be nice if personal flamming wasn't done so often....We all are here as a big family..which keeps on growing every hour..so lets set some good examples for the forum virgins..!!
Take it easy and have a great weekend....

-----------------
yes, i did post this, and yes i do think that ben has been on a power trip as of late..... yet, at the same time tho, you (anysia) have not been helping matters whatsoever..... attacking princess as well......
do i think that all concerns should be voiced in the open? it's debatable..... but attacking each other is not going to help a thing, you know? it's too bad that i deleted my sent messages the other day, cause i would have posted the whole thing.....
it (my PM to anysia) would have also stated that i was not going to take sides here either, only voicing my opinion, and that i wish that DA was back to where it all hit the fan on here. i had said a couple other things (voicing my opinion only from 3rd person POV), but as stated before, i do not have those msgs anymore.... i was trying to clear out my PM box.....
anysia 03-17-2006, 12:16 PM stiller,
i have them and i can post them. i saved everything in regards to this. and yes, i do know you said you were not going to take sides, but that you do feel ben has been on a power trip. my goal is to knock him off of said power trip. nothing done by anyone to date has worked. i'm not "helping" by posting my opinions right in plain veiw, but neither was anything else done by anyone else...... so anyway........
i had no intentions of attacking princess until she tried to claim we were attacking ben in the brighter lights thread. i read and re-read that thread and cannot see how anyones responses were attacking any more or less than ben's. maybe everyone needs to re-read that as well and not skim before they come to complete conclusions about that thread...
same goes for the posts in the shout box and in here and see who said what first. they need re-read and not skimmed by everyone.
and the pm question thread needs reinstated so it is free for everyone to see where the hostility initiated.....
note*noone directed anything at princess in the shout box. i did once she backed ben as if he had done no wrong. then and only then did i do that.
stiller fan 03-17-2006, 12:21 PM to be honest here, you would have been better off taking it to PM, IMHO....
EDIT: if PM didn't work, then i would have dropped it, and avoided the issue til a later date, if not entirely....
OwAce 03-17-2006, 01:42 PM :boohoo:
s all i gotta say to see this family falling apart.
princess 03-17-2006, 01:43 PM :dunno: seems so.....but it doesn't have to stay that way!!
stiller fan 03-17-2006, 01:51 PM it just people on both sides (ben, anysia) that don't want to drop the issue already..... :(
EXLNavi 03-17-2006, 01:54 PM At this point I think I've made my decision.
I'm leaving. For good. Not coming back unless Ben is gone and this place cools down.
Of course the former will never happen so I'm probably gone for good.
This place is an excellent source for information about the Accord, but Ben is ruining it by powertripping and no one seems to want to do anything about it. So I think that me leaving it is for the best.
princess, no one has a problem with YOU of all people. We have a problem with Ben, and it is not just anysia and I.
The solution is simple - Ben needs to go. If Ben doesn't go, then watch more and more members slide away because they can't deal with his attitude. He's a smart kid, but very immature and his attitude stinks. That does not bode well for Drive Accord.
But since I personally cannot do anything about him, and I1 and others seems to think that he's God's gift to the forum, then I'll just remove myself from the situation. That's all. It's just an internet forum. There are an unbelieveable number of other Honda/Acura forums out there.
princess 03-17-2006, 02:04 PM So we need to get rid of anyone that makes a bad decision??? And never forgive them for it????
I'm in BIG trouble!!!
While I probably would not have handled things the same way that Ben & I1 did, I think it's far from an offense that one someone should be un-moderated or banned. To leave the forum over it would be silly.
Now did you hear me? It's not a defense of certain people....it's a defense of the fact we ALL make mistakes, we ALL get too sure of ourselves at times, we ALL have bad days......
Gator Bait 03-17-2006, 03:38 PM Even tho a mod's job is voluntary, and they're just "human", they are, or should be, accepting a responsibility to be more level headed than others and to be able to stay in control of their own emotions, at least on the forums they are the mod for. In the Army we said rank has its privileges and rank has its responsibilities. I don't think Ben should be banned, but I do think he has shown enough immaturity to not be a mod. I monitored this site for a while before joining and thought Ben had a lot of knowledge (and still do think that) about vehicles. But that doesn't qualify anyone to be a mod. How you deal with others is much more important.
I also don't like people using others' user name to log on and see if that person can be locked out. If they wanted to try that they should have discussed it with the user and had their permission, if the forum even allows it. But I would guess that anyone on the internet could try the same thing.
It takes two people to start a fight and only one to stop it. So STOP IT and move on. :grumpy:

THANK YOU!!! :notworthy
andysinnh 03-17-2006, 03:45 PM So, the town I live in (Merrimack NH) has this online forum to talk about town issues, etc. Right now, there's pretty hefty property taxes here, and there are lots of folks in town who feel that things should change at many levels. In this forum, things get real nasty. Folks backstab other folks - call them names in the forum - use PM's as a behind-the-scenes threats and tactics - and if someone comes into the forum for legitimate reasons, then they get caught in the "ruckus" and never end up saying anything.
So, I said to myself, "Boy, am I glad the other forums I deal with are much more civil, with folks liking each other, helping each other - a real supportive place". My two main forums are DA and Hondapilot.org.
So, tonite I come in here and think that I'm in the merrimackforum.org site after reading this thread. This can't be DA???
I've been on here for almost a year, and think I'm a reasonable guy, and come here to find out info and share my experiences about hondas and accords. I've also built some friendships here where I can share stuff going on in my own life, and show my support for others. So I ask - what's changing?
I'm not privy to all of the specifics, but there are certainly many folks here with a certain agenda, and the issue of "who mods or who owns the forum" has risen to the top. I see PM's being referenced and then surface in this string. I see posts moved and deleted. Scary stuff - and l'm not sure that I like being here, but I WANT to be here because it has value to me.
So, how do we solve this? Let's try to stick to the reason we're here. Instead of PM's, if you've got a conversation or something private to say, use AIM or some other messenger outside of DA. If you want to cover a subject outside the bounds of DA (and too out of bounds for the pit), then take it outside.
Get a grip, people. This is an Accord forum, not a battle. Geesh....
