Went to Movies yesterday.... 1st time in about 10 years....
Very impressed by final movie.. I don't believe it is that much better than the other 2 but I guess that's my opinion... I think the hype is a little overboard.. It will be interesting to see if they try and do the Hobbit next.. Special effects were really good(battle scenes)

I don't think they've managed to produce a decent "hobbit". Did you read the books?? Prince did way back in the '70's & liked them. I never got into them. He's also read all the Harry Potters, so far. Well, technically he listen to them on MP3 while working....

Yes I read them in the mid 70's also .. I have the Hobbit on Vinyl-- Narrated by Nicol Williamson ... He played Merlin in Excaliber....
I think it was recorded in like 71 or 72 would have dig out albums to see.... I don't even have a turntable anymore....
My wife and 9yr old daughter have read the Harry Potter books and enjoyed them... I have a hard time reading books gives me a Headache.... I can read magazines or books with glossy pages without a problem.....

You need to see the Pirates movie, The Curse of the Black Pearl. I'm not a Johnny Depp fan, but he was perfect for the role! If you been to any of the Disney parks you'll see scenes from Pirate of the Carribean in it.

We go to movies a lot. We still try to have "dates" as aften as we can. Even though it's been nearly 29 years... I still kinda like him! Since neither one of us are that thrilled about dinner out, do movies instead. We both like most anything Scifi & corny comedies, we own all the Clancy movies (& books), He'll even occationally see a "chick flick" with me, but usually I'll wait for the DVD. I cry every time I watch Armageddon with Bruce Willis. It meant even more to us after visiting the Space Center in FL.

When we go to Blockbuster its, "seen it, seen it, seen it.... oh there's one". Today we rented Bruce Almightly, Freaky Friday, & Bad Boys 2. Hopefully we'll get them all watched. Our other plans for the weekend got cancelled. We were going to install a new sliding door in the family room, but Lowe's sent us a door that was 6'8" wide & 8' tall instead of an 8' wide that was 6'8" tall. All the shopping has been finished for a while..... so it's couch potato time!

I'm on a quest for a puppy now. We got our present dog when our last dog was about this one's age. (9) I think I want something small & hyper, like a boarder collie, sheltie, or mini aussie. We like to overlap dogs, so the older one can help teach the pup.

Have a great weekend!!

I also went opening day. I did think this was the best episode of the three.

I've also read the trilogy 4 or 5 times, I usually read them every 3 or 4 years.

To those who have seen the movies and liked them, but haven't read the books, Middle Earth is a much more descriptive world and the characters are more interesting in the books. It's a good investment, albeit a long one, of your reading time.

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean the weekend before, very impressed.... We usually watch movies at the home theatre....
You can pause and do Bathroom and snack breaks and sit in the lazy-boys.. Did Tomb Raider2 last night and Santa Clause2 the night before...... Finding Nemo is next..

I know what you mean! Sometimes it's so much nicer to have real fresh popcorn than theater "fresh" popcorn. It may have been fresh once, but not usually when you get it!

Long movies, like LOTR, are comfyer at home...so we may wait. Watching it on the Lazyboy just sounds better to me.

Glad you liked "Pirates" too. Being one of those "different drummer" people, I never know if my taste will even be close to others. We'll be watching Santa Clause 2 in the next day or so. We did get the other 3 we rented watched.

Our home theatre has Bose speakers, the bass is behind the couch & we LOVE watching & FEELING the booms at home.

We bought Finding Nemo. I think it's cute!
