Are you a long-time rider?

If not, read the Kieth Code... it's a book by a well know cyclist. He helps you become aware of and control your natural preservation instincts.... most of which get you killed on motorcycles (hitting the brake in a panic, cutting off the gas in a slide, entering a turn to hot, etc). Even for the daily street rider this book will improve your chances of not crashing.

I rode for several years and was very lucky. I would have avoided my worst crash if I had read this book first.

this will be my 2 1/2 years of riding.. I took the msf-course. And i plan to take the advance riders course this summer.

I might just buy the book for the hell of it.

Good for you!! So many of us have such a hard time thinking we just may not know everything there is to know on a subject of interest!! You get many points for that!!!

I can't wait for you to get the bike...I expect pictures posted on here. I install the alarm on mine today.

I will look into that keith code book too, I always try to keep on the gas when I am in a turn and not hit the break or cut out the gas. I do this especially when I am in a turn that requires some leaning. It's something someone told me when I first started riding is that bikes corner better when accelerating.

One of the "funniest" things in that book is about how riders will freak out and bail from a motorcycle in a turn thinking they weren't going to make it, and the motorcycle will often bank the turn rider-less without crashing (untill the road straightens out that is ;).

Don't forget... read it!
