A guy from Italy bought a HD from me on eBay. I shipped it by USPS two months ago and the guy still hasn't received it yet. I couldn't get a delivery confirmation on the package since it was international and I don't think I could find the receipt for the shipment. Anyone know what I could do to track down that package? Thanks.

Call them with all the info you have...address, date, whatever you have. They might be able to track it that way. You'll probably find a form online at their site too.

We've had more problems with regular mail. They've delivered to the wrong house MANY times. Packages & mail! FedEx, Airborn & UPS have done OK.

I wonder why they don't track international? :dunno:

Go postal....
I would if the guy doesn't get his package soon! :lmao:

I don't think I'm going to use USPS anymore for packages. It's not the first time they screwed up on my packages....

I tried looking for some info from their website, but I found nothing about lost packages.

Part of your problem will be tracking as it moved from one country to another, since it then gets into the hand of the local postal agencies. USPS has enough trouble tracking their packages in the US, let alone across national boundries. :thumbsdow

I always use FedEx or UPS to do that sort of shipping - I buy things from Canada and always use one of those carriers just to be able to track. As an example, I ordered some cleaning solvent from BC a few weeks ago, and found out by the online tracking log that the plastic bottle broke before it crossed the border to the US and the supplier had to re-send the bottle. With the postal service - who knows when it would have arrived!!!

Yeah, I don't ever use the USPS for anything important. I've even shipped checks before on UPS -- if its domestic and it isn't time sensitive...just ship it ground ($5 - $8, guaranteed, insured, and trackable). The USPS may be cheaper but to me, in my opinion, the most important part is that it does actually get there. Once I know it will get there then we'll talk about price.

It is less expensive to always mark it as a package and not as a letter if UPS. It goes by weight then and not the higher rate for letters.

It always rounds it up to a pound for me and there is no letter rate for ground.
