Has anyone had the Honda Hands Free Cell Phone kit installed in their 2003-2004 Accord?
If so, How do you like it and is there any limitations as to what type of cell phone you can use with it?

We didn't add it to the Accord...but have it in the Pilot. It's being used with Motorola T720. The prince uses it all the time & seems to like it. The main reason I didn't want it in the Accord was you're supposed to use the sticky tape for the little mic. & I didn't want to do that. They want you to stick it to the flat area at the bottom of the instrument panel. I just can't bring myself to do that! As far as sound quality, he hasn't had any complaints. When his "tunes" lower & the Mickey Mouse Club song comes on, he just says "hello" & the conversation begins.......:)

HI Everyone,
I am brand new here, but have been checking the site out for a couple of months now. I think it is one of, if not the best forums out there. I just bought on 04' Accord 4cyl, 5speed EXL w/Navi and I absolutley love it. I am trying to get the hands free cell kit but it sounds like Honda is discontinuing that product due to the favt that it was to hard to keep up with all the new cell phones. I did find a web site where they say they have it but I can't get a reply on what list of phones are compatible with the system. Does anyone have this information? Any help would be appreciated.

Is the system blue tooth capable like the new Acura system?
If not you may save quite a lot of money with a Motorola or other non OEM kit...
I believe the Acura system is compatible with some Erickson and some Nokia Models.. but that is from info last fall??
With the technology advancements in the last year with these systems it's hard to keep track.. If I can gather any more info I will gladly share...
Hope this helps

Thanks for the welcome Inspector1. Wow you are close to me. I am only about 30 min outside of Cincy. Anyway I do not believe that it is bluetooth campatible. I think they discontinued it before any major upgrades in technology. I do think it may be the sme system as the Acura one but I am not sure. Here is a link to where I found it.

I hope this helps.

OK here is what I found out. The Hands free cell phone system is no longer available any where. I called the one dealer that had it online and he doesn't have it any more. Also the dealer that I bought my vehicle from called our local wharehouse in Troy, OH and they said they had them but couldn't sell them anymore. Anyway maybe they will come out with something soon like the 04 Acura TSL has. Their HANDSFREELINK system looks awesome and it uses bluetooth technology. I am curiouse though, does anyone think this will work in the 04 Accords. It integrates with the NAvi and evrything which is the same on Acura? Just a thought.

Here's what I found out on their site in the parts dept area: Pretty much what you said! I'll see if I can find our why by looking through the service news papers....
COMMUNICATION
• Due to parts availability, the Hands-Free Phone Base Kit and Hands-Free Phone Attachment
Kit are no longer available. NOTE: The Hands-Free Phone Cables listed Parts Information
Bulletin A02-0036, Hands-Free Cellular Phone Interface System, will remain available for vehicles
that have already been outfitted with the Hands-Free Phone System.

Cool.. Sounds like bluetooth is the way to go.
I checked out a 02 Jag S type with integrated phone today....
Just a Motorola flip w/velcro attached mic on L sun visor.
It linked into center console. W/steering wheel mounted controls..
But still old tech compaired to what I here about bt.. Leave phone in your pocket or purse and car installed system links to it wireless.....sweeeeet!!!
Now they just need to have the car talk to the caller for you. :D

Maybe if they go all wireless, I'll find one. When I saw that the mic was attached to the instrument area on the Pilot, I opted not! No adheasive on my baby!!:D
Our phones are the Motorola T70 series. They have internet, texting, & email.....& GPS trackable...... so maybe we can keep them a while, I hate phone shopping!

Here is the link to the Acura HandsFreeLink. It also has controls on the steering wheel. Also click on the phone and click through the links on top of the pop up window like Faq and Demo. It is very cool. I can only hope Honda decides to do this.

Also here is a link to a system I found that is very simular to the Honda kit but a little more pricey.
