I'm sure there is an easy answer to this, but I was wondering how you can turn on the interior lights in the accord from the driver's seat.
I must have missed it in the owner's manual and this being my first honda or accord I am not really use to the controls/interior.
Any help is appreciated.

the ones by the mirror come on by pushing the lens.

Thanks Princess.
I've figured those out, but I was more interested in being able to turn on the rear dome light from the front seat.
I was on a trip and my boxer was in the backseat playing and I was interested in seeing what was going on, but it was so dark I couldn't see anything.
In my old car I would just rotate the light knob until the dome lights came on.

As far as I know that one is only manual from the light itself. Maybe you could teach the dog to do it!!:D

Good idea. He can already Hi-Five, so maybe I can modify that a little bit. :D
Thanks again, Princess.

I also wondered about turning on ALL the cabin lights from the driver seat like EVERY other car I have owned. I just purchased an Accord EX-V6 a few days ago...and realized it has no obvious way to turn on all the cabin lights with one switch. I guess Honda chose to lower the cost by a few cents. I miss that feature. Does anyone know a "secret" way to do that....aside from opening the door at highway speed.

As far as I know, you can't turn them all on. If you need light you turn on the one you need. It's not a cost thing, it's a safety thing. It's unsafe & in many places illegal to drive at night with interior lights on. So the driver & front passenger dcan reach up & turn on the the lights above them. The back seat passengers can reach up & turn on the rear light.

safety huh ? What if my beer falls into the backseat? How can I see it and pick it up when I am driving?
KIDDING FOLKS...KIDDING.
...the cupholders seem pretty sturdy.
KIDDING AGAIN...
Thanks Princess, I will adjust to it.

They felt the need to stupid proof. I've seen people speeding along with all the interior lights going. You know how bad the reflection is when you do that! Anyway, it's just one thing that the rest of the makers may end up doing. We'll see. I think they actually want you to pull over when you need to see in the backseat at night.....go figure!
Stupid proofing is a pet peeve of mine. So I'm no happier about this than most. Niot because I can't light up my whole car while driving, but because if the idea of stupid proofing.
When we've had kids in the back at night I haven't missed having the light accessible. We'd owned it one month when a grandson puked all over the leather back there! I didn't need to see it! Luckily he did it while we were exiting & the lights in the lot worked even better to clean it up! Tripling large trash bags with the clothes, floor mat, the seat protector that I always use under childseats..... all were bagged up & put in the trunk. He really didn't hit much of the car itself..... lucky for him!! My prince can't handle that sort of clean up....at all! So I did it all. He did go buy the supplies I needed though.;)
The next day, at home, I cleaned & inspected even better in the daylight. I was thankful to have leather....nothing soaked in! Kids make trips even more fun!!

I believe you can do it by turning the dash lights adjuster all the way clockwise. Of course this nob is located on the dash. It is the same nob that switches your trip meter, and your odometer to outside temp if so equipped. I am not 100% positive on this as I will have to check next time I get into my car. It is definatley to late to check right now.

My only comment on pushing buttons on the instrument cluster while driving is to pay attention to what's ahead of you too. That's not just because you might miss a turn or a deer, but also because even if you do see the turn, your hand being stuck through the steering wheel might prevent you from turning enough, which might be a disaster. I've had that happen one, didn't have enough brains to take my hand out BEFORE I turned :bawling:

True that. They should have put the controls by the light switch. I guess everything on the car can't be perfect.

In mine it is perfect. They put the dimmer in the instrument cluster to balance out the Trip stick thingy on the other side. Yin & Yang, Feng Shui, whatever, it looks better that way I'll put it like that haha.

Well, I went out in the car & tried the dash light dimmer (trip button) twist & all it does is the dash lights. If I turn it all the way it changes the nav screen to daylight mode. I still don't think you can turn on the top lights all at once unless you open the door.
No matter how many times I try to find it in the owner's manual, it's not there!
If anyone finds a magic trick to do this....let us know!!
It's not something I'll miss anyway.....:)

I guess someone will have to figure out a way to mod the car with a clap on.
