Does anyone take their car back to the dealer for the scheduled maintanance. The ones you have to pay for. Or do you just do the oil changes. I found that most of the services performed at the maintanance intervals are wasting money. If you read the owners manual it does not say that the coolant, spark plugs, etc need to be changed at 20k, yet thats what the dealer wants to do. So far the only things ive done to my 03 EX V6 Coupe are oil changes and tire rotations. 21k on the car.

I have always done my own oil changes and most other maintenance on all my cars. I plan to do the same on my new 4Dr EX. Have the shop manuals ordered, not here yet. Probably good idea to save reciepts.

We change the oil in the engine & the tranny fluid @ 5K. Since the reason for the LONG servince intervals are to keep customer costs down on the stats, not for the good of the car. We are doing the same valve adjust, etc. at 15K times, just like with the older ones. It certainly can't hurt to keep everything all adjusted properly. Which is the reason most dealers offer it. (At your cost, of course)
