View Full Version : In the market for an EX-L

Hey guys. After reading the thread on doing business via email, I did the same thing. I requested a few quotes from dealers around my area and found one dealer is willing to let go an '06 Carbon Bronze EX-L automatic for $22,661 plus TTL but the dealer is farther away than I hoped for so I'm trying to get the dealer closer to me to match it or beat it and I really hope it'll work. If it does, I'll definitely be down there Saturday to sign the papers. I just sold my beloved '96 Acura 3.2TL so I'll use that money as my downpayment for this car. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the dealer here can match it.
BTW, I'm currently driving a '90 Accord. It's got 236k miles on it and it still runs like a champ...minus the A/C. It needs a new evaporator. :thumbsdow

I also have the rear wing and mud flaps and waxed will Klasse.
Just spend the money and go for it.

If you already have an offer then it would probably be best to let them know you are buying this week and if they can BEAT (You could probably get another $100 or $200 off or they could throw in some accessories) the offer then you'll buy from them -- since you have that e-mail, you now have all the bargaining power against the other dealers.

When I bought my car I had them throw in the mud flaps and all season floor matts for the winter. They also gave me 5 free oil changes

Thanks guys for the input. I don't really care about accessories. I can add them later. No biggie at all. Here's the price the dealer close to me is offering. $23,864.83 out the door. Go for it or not?

Well if you only got 1K off MSRP that would be an awful deal. Yet if that is out-the-door like you say and if sales tax is 6.5% in Raleigh then it sounds like a good deal

Alright...just emailed the sales guy about it and all I need is to put my name down and the car will be mine saturday!! I figured it out and it came just under $22,800, which is almost $2700 below MSRP. Figuring in 3% auto taxes, tags, and doc fees, it's not that bad of a deal. I'll keep you guys posted as the weekend nears!! I'm so psyched!!!

I wonder what will be on your mind between now and Saturday :D
Congratulations and be sure to post pictures when you get home!
Oh, by the way, when you pick it up they might try to get you to buy Honda's extended warranty. If you're interested in buying the warranty, make sure you print out the price list at www.collegehillshonda.com before you see them. They have the lowest prices that I know of for the Honda backed warranty.

Unfortunately, Josh, Honda discontinued the noble green pearl (I believe 03 was the last year that it was available) otherwise I'd have mine in that color! I couldn't get the blue with the ivory interior and white was the only other 'bright' color available with ivory.

You're right!! White is too blend and way too hard to take care of (speaking from experience). I need something that's great at hiding dirt, especially when we're under a water restriction and since Desert Mist is way too gold for me so I pick the next best thing...Carbon Bronze. :D No green either. I had a '96 Explorer EB in green and my Acura was green too so it'll be a nice change.
Welp...my Acura is gone today. :( So hopefully everything will go as I planned so I won't have to drive the '90 Accord for another week.

Today is the day. I picked up my Carbon Bronze/Black EX-L today. It has only 2 miles on the odometer (I think it has 200 miles on it now). I'm guessing the car was just dropped off the truck. The dealer was nice enough to put only one accessory...the splash guards. Not bad considering that'd be the first accessory I was thinking of getting.
I made a two hour trip driving from Winston-Salem back to Raleigh. I absolutely LOVE the XM radio and the overall sound system!!! It's pretty awesome considering it's only a stock system. I haven't taken any pics yet but I promise there'll be pics within the coming days. Stay tuned.

I like your combination of colors.....but they could not locate black leather w/ the Carbon Bronze...so I picked white instead b/c I wanted a deeper transition of color between the interior and exterior.
