Early this morning we had to have our old doggie put down.....even though you know you're doing the right thing it doesn't make it any easier. We'll miss her.

Last week my Mother had another mini stroke and had to be transported from the nursing home to a Hospital ER. She has recovered and will be sent back to the nursing home today.

For the past two weeks I have been recovering from a large Mesquite thorn that broke off inside my foot. Walking has not been an option much less driving a car so all I could do was sit here with my foot propped up. I've never felt so helpless before. Uh, I WON'T be walking barefoot outside any more!

All's well that ends well -------The Mater is recovering, the dog is no longer suffering, and I'm back on my feet again although not full time. Things could have been a lot worse.

A sad day indeed in this house today. Goodbye old friend :wavebye:

Really sorry to hear about that. It really is amazing how we can become so bonded with our pets.

Understood. Ours had been a family member for 15 years although I was only around for the last 8.

Glad to hear things are better. Sorry for your loss.

We just put our lab down last month. :( 14 years. But had a great life.

Amazing what animals can do to your disposition. You couldn't help but smile whenever she was around. But we suspected she loved food more than us. She would even conspire with the ****ateil for food. She'd bark at the bird. The bird would kick seed out of the cage. The lab would lick it up and go on her way. :lmao: A mid after noon snack? She'd eat anything. What a retard. I miss her.

Sorry for the loss tex. We let our old dog die a natural death a month or so ago. Either way its very hard.

Hope the foot gets better soon.

Good luck with mom.

Hey Birthday buddy - hang in there. We've had to put 2 dogs down in the last 6 months - but when they've lived a long life and spent a lot of time with you and the family, you have to remember those times and know you're doing the right thing.

As far as your mom and your foot - glad both are on the mend!

Hang in there - andy

My wife and I are on our 3rd pug in over 25 years. First lasted 13 years, second lasted 15 years, and our third is now 4 and helping us forget that we had to put the first two down when it was their time. Sad times for sure, but when you look at our little black pug with her bottom teeth sticking out and that curly tail wagging in a circle, it helps to make you look forward instead of looking back.
