Im new to the forum and I am impressed with the info and members.

I wanted to let everyone know, if they dont already, about a Metra dash kit I just found and ordered. It replaces the entire radio console area, climate control buttons, etc. Its the Metra T2 kit under "Hond Stereo Installation Kits", Heres the link:
http://www.installer.com/cars/honda.html

I like it better than the cheaper kits that replaces the pocket area under the factory radio.

Welcome to the board!

Why would you want to replace your dash? I know some have changed to wood or brushed. The link looked like it was for mostly wiring pieces, so do you mean to add units?

I'm sure others will find the link useful....I just prefer stock myself. So thank you on other's behalf!!:D

I didnt replace the entire dash. I am installing my aftermarket HU and didnt like the kits that use the pocket area under the radio. I didnt like those kits b/c 1) it takes the pocket away and 2) it leaves the factory radio still installed. If you look at the picture you will notice its just the radio and climate control area. I think it makes for a nice custom looking install IMO.

Yea, I dont like using any factory stereo equipment b/c it just doesnt satisfy my tastes. So its all gonna go. I have a Clarion Pro Audio HU, 2 Channel Zapco REF350 to power CDT Audio components, JL 250/1 mono amp to power one JL 12W3v2. For the rear deck I have CDT Audio coaxils using custom passive crossovers I built to be powered off the HU . I had this system in my '95 accord, with the exception of the new coaxils and passive xovers, but I took it out a few weeks ago when I got the '04 accord. Its gonna be a bitch of an install but will be worth it.

And as a note, it does not work with the 6-disc CD player, either.

You're wight, Silva... no stereo in the world is worth giving up dual climate controls!!

Stock stereo is good 'nuf for me, but thanks for bringing up another option. :)

Ive seen that kit on an Accord on cardomain.com. A kid on there had a coupe and wanted to change the headunit but wanted to keep the stock look. Personally I think that kit looks a lot better than adding an aftermarket look. Thanks for the link as I may consider now changing my headunit since I want to add more powerful subs and interior speakers to my car without having to do all the wiring of a converter and all that stuff. My motto is keep it clean and simple.

WEll pretty much all that's left for us Navi owners is replacing the pocket. Frankly I don't miss it but I wish the stock stereo had more bass.

Hmm... Maybe I'll impulse buy a Basslink this weekend.

Just got my kit today. It looks even better than I thought it would. It even comes with the plug that goes into the factory harness. Since I'm not going to amp it up yet, looks pretty simple. I hate all the clips and other goodies that hold the dash together though. Honda must make gobs of cash everytime someone takes this stuff apart.

Makes it harder to steal too, I guess...
