is there a problem if you mix synthetic with mineral? the guy at pepboys told me that it is bad to go back to mineral after i gone synthetic. truth?

Don't mix. You need to flush out the one as best you can & use a new filter before adding the next. I would change it again in a few miles with another new filter.
The thread on oil stuff has a great link to a oil forum that could probably explain all you want to know about oils!! Bobtheoilguy or something like that.

thanks princess. yea i been to that site. i read the info they had there but i didn't see anything on mixing oils. i remember how oils work. but i'll check again. thank you.

I doesn't harm anything to mix oils. However, you won't get the full benefit of synthetics if it has dino oil in there.

Why mix? Viscosity I guess is okay but synthetic and mineral? Not my cup of tea, if you're going one way stick with it.

Sure you can mix the oils, what do you think Valvoline Durablend is? Mobil has a blended oil as well.
