Hey do you guys use a block heater? Any good? I want one cuz I'm tired of waiting for heat and then when I turn it on the engine goes back to cold again :D

When you use a block-heater it will heat your engine in the night to help it start the day after. But it wont make you car warm immediatly when youll start it.

If you have a brand new car, or a accord :D , you don't need a block-heater.

If you drive a Topaz 87, then you'll need one cuz you're gonna get stuck that's for sure. :p

The block keeps the oil from getting to thick. If your get the heater that goes in line with the coolant, your car will be somewhat warm or warm faster than without. Up here its a good idea to get a battery warmer too. If that gets to cold your car wont even turn over. there were a few days that mine barely turned over. -30

Oh burrrrrr!! Today we're whining about high winds. They're getting stronger as the front comes through & earlier they were at 79 mph in some areas here! That's hurricane strength!! The rain is sideways & some bay area places will be getting more than 3" today. There's flood warnings. The coast is expecting 40' waves. I'm sure some crazy surfers will go out anyway! They do it every time.

Our temps aren't bad.... in the 50's. I'm sure hwy 1 will have the usual slides & the ocean will come up over in places not far from BB650. There will be some flooding in the north bay near Santa Rosa area & Napa. We will be fine. The Delta is a mile away & we don't live near any small streams. So as long as our roof stays on, we're OK. We'll have to inspect it over the weekend after this is all done.

The only way pictures seem to be posting is if you link them to another site. It's the same problem I'm having with posting more bulletins.

Whining about winds? Who's whining? :) Haven't heard any slides yet so I think we're still okay. The whole thing blew over quicker than I expected, already getting sun. Haven't seen the waves, though I wish I could.

This morning was real fun. I saw an idiot classmate in an old El Camino try to impress his girlfriend and spin it. I loved it, laughed all the way to school haha. Then I got to school and parked in the last spot even though high winds and heavy rain, because I knew that nobody else would park near there :)

I'm whining!! Today I have a house full of munchkins! The youngest one is sleeping now & the older 3 are watching a Disney movie. They can't play outside because 2 of the 4 have ear infections. So I'm definately whining! My daughter had to get that Civic smogged. Then she'll do the DMV run for registration. This has been for 3 hours.....so far.

It's actually gone well, they're busy, but great kids. We did homework, colored, read, did dress up (I have knight stuff for the boys), had 2 snack times, then watched Lion King 1 1/2. I'm tired, but they still have energy left!!

The gas fireplace in the bedroom keeps going on, so it's says it's still cold in here...even if it's stopped raining. It's still very windy here. There's some sort of rescue going on from a news clip I heard.

I wish it were winter instead of this annoying 80 degree heat that you can't even sleep in!
