And a very impressive stack of books they are. About 5 3/8 inch tall stack. I got all four books.
I've started looking around a bit and I'm disappointed about one thing. When you set the alarm system with two clicks of the remote, the horn sounds. I was hoping that the horn could be turned off. Does not seem to be the case. My 2000 4Runner has a beeper under the hood that sounds when you set the alarm. The beeper volume is programmable by pushing the buttons on the remote.
Another couple of things. The turn signal clicker is really quiet. Anybody bothered by that? I wish it was louder. There is also a beep that sounds when you program the Navigation. Wish it was louder. Maybe I need a hearing aid. :(

I agree on all counts! Even though mine is a 6th gen, so obviously it doesn't apply to the navi part :)

Where did you get them and how much did they run? Are they the Honda manuals?

They are the 2003-2004 Honda manuals that are listed in the owners manual. Ordered them from Helm 800-732-4356. Went to their website, www.helminc.com but could not get the order to take.
61SDA04 Base Service Manual $70
61SDAO5 Service Manual Supplement for V6 $40
61SDAO4EL Electrical Troubleshooting Manual $50
61SDA30 Body Repair Manual $44
All of the above is in the owners manual that comes with the car. Total with shipping $210.95

The blinker will click a bit louder with age. Not much, but some.
Why are you pushing your remote twice to lock it up? Once is all it takes. It sounds the horns to tell you it's already done.
Congrayulations on your manual set! ENJOY!!
I haven't noticed any unusal beeps when programming the Nav. Maybe I'm just used to it. It's (female) voice is lower than the Pilot's. But now the Pilot's is lower too since the new program. Do you use the voice commands much? We don't. We did at first, but I got tired of hearing her interupt my tunes & don't have the Nav on most of the time.

In my owners manual under Remote Transmitter it says.
"Lock- Press this button once to lock all doors. Some exterior and interior lights will flash. You cannot lock it if any door is not fully closed or key is in the ignition switch.
On the EX Model- When you push lock twice within 5 seconds, you will hear a beep to verify that the security system has set."
Evidently the beep they are referring to is the horn. My Toyota has a separate beeper.

I was under the assumption that one click also armed the alarm and two clicks was just so if you wanted to you could here an audible signal that told you the doors were locked and the alarm was active.
I could be wrong...I'll have to test it when I get home.

yep, the first push sets the alarm, second push beeps the horn if done within a few seconds. It's not setting anything else, just making an audible.

Well, I believe you are exactly correct. The way I was reading the instructions I thought the second push was required to set the alarm. Thanks.

Still IMO it's annoying. I like to have that security because my drivers door lock doesn't work with the remote anymore, so I always sound the horn. I don't let anyone take the car before telling them to sound the horn before they walk away.
