View Full Version : OK Navigation bought now what?
tomcat 05-21-2006, 05:55 PM This topic has been raised b4. I was able to get the 05 Navigation system including wiring harness for ~$760 from Ebay shipped. I have an 05 LX and wants to put the nav in it. I know I will need to buy the upper vent with display panel and probably the mouting bracket for the DVD-ROM in the trunk. So will this be plug and play? I guess not...what do I need to do to get the dual climate climate control since I don't mine is manual. I know there's a sunlight sensor on the dash and one on the driver side...So I will need to buy those sensors...are these sensors plug-and-play once installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
tomcat 05-21-2006, 06:10 PM I found these sunlight sensors. The picture said B-61...but no part number provided. How do I order this? Thanks in advance.
bagbklyn 05-21-2006, 07:09 PM The Additional parts might add up. You may want to find an accord in the junkyard. Having an LX makes this difficult, you need to get the upper display, the senors aren't so critical as of yet. You just will not be able to fully use the auto climate system becasue of the sensors. I believe the sub diplay read out by itself is close to $200, so you should really price everything before moving forward because it might not be worth it in the end.
Im telling you this because I went through with my EX coupe. Luckily I got mine from a junkyark and I was able to pull it out. When I priced it, it came out to be pretty expensive if I would have brought any navi digital part from the dealer.

Conundrum 05-21-2006, 07:14 PM I'm interested to see how this all pans out for you...I have a EX 6spd coupe and wouldn't mind adding in navi down the road, depending on overall costs.
I may have gotten navi when I bought my Accord, however here in Canada sadly navi is not an option on any trim level of the coupe (only on the EX sedan and the hybrid Accord).
tomcat 05-21-2006, 07:22 PM Ben, Ok, I went to acurazine and check it out...I cannot find the part number for the sub clock display panel for the Accord. Can you please provide me with the part number? I don't know what will I get but this is the description from ebay's seller:
"This *** *** is for a factory navigation radio, dvd base unit, antenna and box, and wire harness from a 2005 Honda Accord. System is in good used condition. Harness is complete except for the wiring for the doors (wiring for doors were cut from loom). ****. As an added bonus climate controls will go with the whole system."
OrangesOfCourse 05-21-2006, 09:14 PM are you talking about this?

VTECaddict 05-21-2006, 09:56 PM did you get it shipped to you yet? wait and see what exactly is in the box first. from that picture, i just see the display/headunit, DVD-ROM drive, XM module, and XM antenna (navigation antenna is different).

The XM antenna should be that "shark" like thing that sits on the roof near the rear window...that looks like something else (hence why I'd guess it was a GPS antenna... :dunno: )

The antenna in OP's pic is definately the XM antenna. The GPS antenna (black) is located next to the CHMSL (center brake lamp) on the rear shelf in the '03-'05s... Should be in the same location for the '06, but I'm not 100% sure.
tomcat 05-22-2006, 12:20 PM I will let you guys know once I get my hands on it. But I think it's a GPS anntenna and the sub clock panel display (not the XM radio receiver). If that's the case I will save myself $200 for the sub clock display. Thank you all for having interest in this. All helps are appreciated.
greg-ster 05-22-2006, 03:55 PM That definately looks like the XM antenna and reciever in the pic...

In your pic it's the number 1,
PArt #1356625 DISPLAY ASSY., INFORMATION CENTER NO COLOR Dealer price $260.02 Your Price $195.02
The gray top there is the XM radio and the receiver to the right of that is the XM receiver.
I have an extra sunlight sensor, I hope all works out well. It is going to be a huge undertaking. Good luck!!!
tomcat 05-23-2006, 06:22 PM You guys are right!!! That's the XM antenna not the GPS, the GPS antenna is black as in this pic. I will POST once completed with this mod.
VTECaddict 05-23-2006, 07:25 PM wow, it looks like it came with almost everything. good luck! i wish i had navi :(

Same here!
stevencrosbie 05-23-2006, 08:11 PM I now have Navi.....
In the TL...I would not get it any other way....
The NAVI is nice, but I would not use it as my only planning source for large trips. A good map and planning for large roadtrips is better than the Navi.
What is the NAVI good for? You will be surprised what you will find in your own cities w/ the NAVI....I love it.....
accord06lxsedan 07-07-2006, 09:44 PM will this fit in a LX 06 Sedan? and where can i get one?
VTECaddict 07-07-2006, 09:57 PM sure, but you need the bits for the automatic climate control system too. search ebay.
