View Full Version : About to buy a 04 LX. Advice needed.
jbalakri 05-23-2006, 06:54 PM Hi Folks,
I am about to buy a 2004 Accord LX Auto with 14000 miles from a private party. The car looks great. It still has about 1 year factory warranty left on it. I have negotiated it down to $15k. Let me know if this is a good deal or not.
Thanks.

2004 Honda Accord LX Sedan Auto w/ 14k miles
Excellent: 17,830
Good: 16,810
Fair: 15,435
These are the Kbb values for private party value. As you can see, if you can negotiate under these values, than you're doing pretty good.
phoenix 05-24-2006, 04:58 AM Have you priced out the 2006 LX? It seems like for just a tiny bit more $ you can get your own brand new Accord LX sedan. People have been talking about the current $750 factory-to-dealer incentive going on now over at Honda. Check out this thread http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6398
BenjiBoy650 05-24-2006, 07:55 AM Yeah, another 2-3K you'd get a new car that's 2 years newer with 14,000 less miles.
Trancemiro 05-24-2006, 04:17 PM Hi. I bought my 2005 accord LX with 20 000miles for 14 000$.(car looks like new) So i think you should go lower...
jbalakri 05-24-2006, 05:59 PM Thanks a lot everyone for the pointers.
I contacted a couple of dealers and I got a quote for 2006 LX AT for $18399 and SE AT for $18999 which includes the destination charge of $550. It is clear that it is not worth paying $15K for a 04 LX.
Thanks Trancemiro. I have to definitely renegotiate now or go for a new one.

stiller fan 05-25-2006, 05:03 PM i have a 93 accord 10th anniversary edition 4cyl, with 279,500+ miles on it..... :jumping: :naughty: :notworthy
CA05LXDriver 05-27-2006, 08:11 AM Em, maybe not. What state are you in and what will your sales tax be like?
I got my new '05 LX sedan for 17,299, but after tax it was 19,400 out the door if I recall correctly (in CA).
The main thing I'd be wary about on buying used is if the car had been wrecked/repaired already.
Thanks a lot everyone for the pointers.
